"TOKWIFI": A MAGIC IN STORY-TELLING FURTHER CAPTURES THE ESSENCE OF A STAR

Unpredictable. This is something we told to our self as we finished watching the short film TOKWIFI, one of the competing Shorts for this year's Cinemalaya 16. The 'twist' in the story of this film was so surprising and it only added-up to the unique appeal and magnetism created by this kind of an artistic film art that levelled-up like Science Fiction.

The woman director of this film, in person of Carla Pulido Ocampo surely knew her kind of film genre and she executed it awesomely and precisely. With a very beautiful story plot, setting and film material on her hand, watching TOKWIFI was pleasurable, entertaining and time-loving.

With a handsome and rather beautiful people as actors and actresses in the film, the film transcended and paralleled itself with the beauty of the rice terraces, the mountains and magnificent cloths. The Igorots, you would conclude, were indeed very beautiful people.

The craft of story-telling never lost its magic, just like in this film that further captured the essence of a STAR.

Stars gives us hopes, gives us love, makes us proud to show to 'it' our homes and our lives.

In a short film that's technically-perfect in all its aspects and ways, and performers that went within the delights of your hearts-

Surely.

The film TOKWIFI was the best among the rest, personally, for us-

and for-ever.
