(FOREWORD: ENJOY THIS Q&A INTERVIEW WITH KARL SIPAT, ONE OF THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF "4-S PAMILYA" NI TESSIE LAGMAN. KARL IS LIKE CLARK KENT OF SUPERMAN, TIPONG KAPAG INALISAN NG SHIRT O DAMIT, MAY IPAKIKITA! PARANG SI SUPERMAN, DI BA?  AM I RIGHT?--- R.S.*)

ROBERT: How does it feel to be a part of 4-s Pamilya?

KARL: I feel very fortunate po na makasama sa Sama Sama Salo salo. Bihira po ang nabibigyan ng chance na maging part ng isang group who performs not only to entertain but also to have fun. So iam really thankful po for that.

ROBERT: Every sunday, with the 4-s Pamilya ay napapakinggan kau sa radio at nakakapag-bond ka with veteran singers? Ano ang natutuhan mong mga great things sa mga veteran singers na tulad nina tessie lagman at ray lucero?

KARL: I’ve learned a lot from them po, especially on how to perform, how to entertain and how to be confident. Binibigyan po nila ako ng tips on what to do and what not do. But above all that, ang most significant thing na naituro nila is to stay humble.

ROBERT: inborn ba sa iyo ang pagiging isang magaling na singer? bata ka pa ba, kumakanta ka na?

KARL: Hindi po. Haha. I started po na sumabay sa kanta sa videoke nung 3 yrs old ako. From there na realize po nina mommy na may ear ako for music and singing. Formally po, i started to practice singing last year, constantly trying to improve po.

ROBERT: your mom, nancy sipat, is very supportive of your singing career. do you plan to make a career as a professional singer someday sa philippine showbiz?

KARL: Hopefully po. If given the right chance. Sa tamang panahon. Its not easy to make it big in showbusiness. So in the meantime, i’ll focus on the opportunities given to me and try to excel in those things and hopefully dream for something bigger.

ROBERT: sino-sino ang mga idolo mong singers, locally and internationally?

KARL: Locally po, i really like Moira dela torre and Gary V. Then for the international singers po, Ed Sheeran and Michael Buble

ROBERT: Sa radio program ninyo every Sunday, laghi kayong kumakanta ng old classical filipino songs, ano ang masasabi mo sa mga kantang luma pero magaganda

KARL: Heartfelt po. Lyrically po, It has an element that modern opm songs lack. It’s sounds very consistent and honest with the feelings. Meron po kasing mga songs ngayon about heartbreak na upbeat unlike sa kundiman, if about sa heartbreak ay consitently sad yung kanta.

ROBERT: sa modern music at pop music naman, saan ka mas gamay- sa ballad, sa rap, o sa jazz?

KARL: I try to broaden my versatility sa songs po pero I’m really comfortable with Pop/ Rap and Jazz

ROBERT: how passionate are you when it comes to music, karl? sa palagay mo ba, hindi kumpleto ang araw mo kapag walang music?

KARL: Really passionate po. It sounds very cliche’ pero totoo po yung quote na “Music gives meaning”. As much as possible hindi po lilipas ang isang araw ng wala po akong nakakanta haha. I try to practice guitar at least 4hrs a day then singing for about 2hrs 😉

ROBERT: last question: what is the SEXIEST thing about you?

KARL: Hmm. I would say me singing jazz. Yung may enough na hagod not to swoon girls but to at least get their attention. 😉
