SUNDAY, August 13, the 13th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival will provide additional screening slots for sold out Cinemalaya films “Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha” at 12:45pm (Little Theater), “Respeto” at 3:30pm (Little Theater), “Nabubulok” at 12:45pm (Tanghalang Huseng Batute) and “Kiko Boksingero” at 3:30pm (Tanghalang Huseng Batute), all competition films in the full length category, to satisfy audience demand at the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival now ongoing until August 13, 2017 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and in Ayala Malls Cinemas.
"Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha (The Family That Doesn't Weep)" is a film about a desperate woman who is looking for the famous family that doesn't weep so she can reunite with her own family, while "Respeto" tells about two writers who write their verses with new found clarity when they were thrown together in a moment of violence. The film "Nabubulok" follows after a husband who takes flight when his wife goes missing, while "Kiko Boksingero" tackles how loss and grief brings a father and his young son together.
Winners of the 2017 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival will be announced at the Cinemalaya Awards Night at 7:00pm at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater).
Cinemalaya is a project of the Cinemalaya Foundation, the Cultural Center of the Philippines in partnership with Ayala Malls Cinemas. Established in 2005, Cinemalaya is an all-digital film festival and competition that aims to discover, encourage and honor cinematic works of Filipino filmmakers.
