Maybe we have all forgotten where we came from. From the humble roots of the soil, from the natural wonders of mountains and trees, and from the blood of our own ancestors even before the colonizers invaded our minds and thinking. Yes, we came from the very roots of our own land- the AETAS.
We may have mixed bloodlines by now- some are Chinese Mestizos, Spanish Mestizos, American Mestizos, Hindu-Malayan mixtures, and others more. But the mere fact that the Filipino-Aetas were already here living in our beloved country way, way back before the Malayan race popped-out and way, way back before the foreigners mixed-in with us, the Aetas were here. And they're our BROTHERS.
Our very humble beginnings are still a part of us, no matter what. And in THE MOST DRAMATIC FILM OF 2018 that this blogger had watched and seen, it would make us remember, that our very lives must have a mission to fulfill, a task to deliver, a work that would MAKE us all heroic and angel-like.
The title of the film is: TELL ME YOUR DREAMS. Produced by Golden Tiger Films and under the direction of Anthony Hernandez, the film, according to this blogger's own personal choice is THE MOST DRAMATIC FILM OF 2018.
One blogger simply cried and cried and cried, as rivers of tears overflowed his soul in almost all of the most dramatic scenes of the film. Kudos to its director, Anthony Hernandez, for presenting a very simple but heart-rending story of a teacher who chose to do her task to teach the Aetas in the mountains, rather than be with her kids and grandmother. In the end, she was ousted as a teacher there because of a near-fatal accident in the river involving her students. And much worse, she died of Malaria. And death redeemed her, because the Aetas so loved her and buried her in their own land.
What's so beautiful about this film is the narrative attack of the director. The director chose the POETIC way of presenting a story, but he never knew, it did target more into the very heart of the viewer. What a perfect strategy.
The Aetas who all acted in this film were all good and convincing. They knew all too well the distinct characters they were portraying, and as Aetas as they could be, they simply showed to the whole world that they're not stupid enough to act good, and that they are not illiterates, too, in terms of conveying their innate skills in the artistic and intellectual field- just like the acting field.
From the cinematography, editing, sound, production design and all, the director chose the perfect staff and perfect assistants, like the Assistant Director by the name of Ryan Tibay. Because you could see in the fullness of the film that it was well-coordinated and presented in a great visual manner.
When you watch this film, please bring with you a handkerchief or two. Prepare to see and look at the Aetas in a different way. And embrace one great actress' very great show of a unique dramatic performance.
Yes, it's Miss Aiko Melendez' acting performance that showed so much grandeur, depth and tears in this very humble film about teachers and Aetas.
An acting style that would reach farther than the gates of heaven
and evoke your tears into a river of-
FOREVER.
"TELL ME YOUR DREAMS", SWORDSHINES10.BLOGSPOT.COM's CHOICE AS THE MOST DRAMATIC FILM OF 2018. A YEAR-ENDER BLOG FEATURE.
