Held last July 14 at the Carlos Romulo Auditorium at the RCBC Plaza, the actual event FACE OF THE YEAR (THE REBIRTH) 2018 was a very succesful one and the audience who watched were filled to the rafters. Bilib na talaga kami sa mga mata ng pamosong celebrity manager at event organizer na walang iba kundi si Jojo Veloso. Alam na alam niya kung "star potential" talaga ang mga nadidiskubre niyang lalaking artistahin. Heto, may isa na naman siyang na-discover na bago. At siya'y walang iba kundi si RASH FLORES, ang Pampaguenong Pakistani. "Hindi ko na po nakilala at nagisnan ang tatay kong Pakistani daw", bungad na pahayag ni Rash Flores sa isang lunch interview over Pork Barbeque and rice. "Pero sa Pampanga po ako isinilang. My mom kasi is Pampaguena. "Iba-iba po ang kuwento nila ukol sa dad kong Pakistani, kaya nalilito ako", dugtong na sabi pa ni Rash. "Pero sa katagalan, nasanay na rin ako. I felt na I belonged na rin sa mga kapatid na kinagisnan ko. Lahat naman sila, minahal ako." At sa bagong mundong tatahakin ngayon ni Rash, naka-agapay sa kanya ang ikalawa niyang ama na si Jojo Veloso. In fact, naikuha siya agad nito ng isang proyekto sa pelikula. "Bale isang indie movie iyon na ipapalabas sa Cignal channel", dugtong na wika ni Rash. "Kasama ko doon si Ruffa Guttierez at Benjie Paras. Okey naman po, so far, masaya ang naging experience ko. "Nu'ng una, ninnerbyos pa ako", dagdag na sabi ni Rash. "Pero after two days of shooting, nawala na po ang nerbyos ko. Pero feeling ko, hindi pa ako satisfied sa acting na ipinakita ko du'n sa direktor ko. Kaya gusto ko pong sumali sa isang Acting Workshop balang araw para lubos pa ring matuto." Sa modelling naman, malawak na rin ang mga naging ekspiriyensya ni Rash. "Naging brand ambassador po ako ng Folded & Hung at Levi's", sey pa ni Rash. "Nakagawa na rin po ako ng mga fashion shows sa Under Armour underwear at iba pang mga ramp fashion shows." Sabi pa ni Rash, ang pagkakaiba daw ng modelling at acting ay 'yung pagiging mas malakas na dating ng personalidad. "Sa modelling, dapat maangas ka, mayabang", wika ni Rash. "Sa acting, may mukha ka lang na guwapo, okey na." Rash describes himself as tahimik na tao lamang sa umpisa, pero later on, pakikisamahan ka naman daw niya ng maganda. "I am 20 years old now and I feel, medyo matured na rin ako sa buhay", huling sabi ni Rash. "Kaya kung nasasaktan man ako minsan sa mga babae at naloloko, kinakaya ko na lang po. Among all the female candidates of FACE OF THE YEAR 2018, she's the most controversial. And why, because she's the most candid, most innocent, and most girlish. That's why she was branded as "naughty girl" by no less than the head of PHILMODA (Philippine Modelling Agency) head- Mr. Jojo Veloso. She gets into controversies without her knowing and without any bad intentions on her part. Hehehe. But basically, JOAN KYLE GUEVERRA is not a bad girl. In person, she's very nice, warm and friendly, too. "Maybe I just do things that out of my being friendly and being nice, other people would see it differently", Joan said to a blogger. "But I will now follow the advice of those people who's simply concerned to me. I need to be more mature in ways this time, eliminate my being playful and focus more on my career as a model." THE STAGE OF THE GLAMOUR NIGHT OF FACE OF THE YEAR
PEOPLE LINING-UP AT LE REVE EVENTS PLACE TO WATCH THE EVENT
You'd feel that you are really on the red-carpeted premiere night of a Hollywood film and the Hollywood stars were right there rubbing elbows with you. From Kanye West, Orlando Bloom, Shia Lebouf to Brigitte Bardot, Kate Winslett and Selena Gomez. Yeah, the male and female candidates of Face of the Year imitated them in this Glamour Night, in which, those who landed on the top 5, automatically lands the top places in the Finals of Face of the year (FOTY) 2018.
Held at LE REVE EVENTS PLACE in Sgt. Esguerra St. last December 15, 2017, the event became so succesful and mind-blowing! Male candidate Daniel Kent Orio was so handsome in his over-all white tuxedo, while female candidate Marsela Mari Guia looked so tantalizing in her sexy evening gown... And how can we forget, male candidate number 4- Mr. Ram Rivera looked like Orlando Bloom himself in his black tuxedo designed by Ms. Ivanka Moda- and Ram's partner, Ms. Frances Ortiz, did a great imitation look on Hollywood icon Brigitte Bardot. Handsome host Lance Raymundo remedied some loopholes on the production technicalities, with scriptwriter Maryo Labad rushing-out some immediate additions-, and, thanks also to choreographer Shandy Lim for doing some extra cleaning-up measures on the final production stages of FOTY's Glamour Night. Director Tony Reyes, past winners of FOTY like Mr. Lester Buna and Ms. Divine, PMPC President Roldan Castro, Salon Owners Ness Astilla and Jun Laguardia, paranormal expert Zernan Mataya, radio broadcaster Renee Garcia, Ms. Agnes Valencia, actress Monette Rivera, scriptwriter Eric Ramos and a lot more, became the judges of the event (there were 50 judges in all).... Indeed, it was a spectacular event witnessed by mostly family and friends of the candidates. The designers who all participated in this event were also present in that memorable night, especially the San Pablo City fashion designers and Mr. Topher Garcia, famous fashion designer of Batangas City.
