Question Number One: Is it hard to be taping your new TV teleserye in a LOCKDOWN way? Sobrang hindi ba kayo nakakalabas outside the set kapag nagte-taping na kayo unlike before? Ano'ng feeling?

RICHARD QUAN: Yes, mahigpit dto. This is my 2nd lock-in taping, kaya mas adjusted na ko... homesick lang nga. Ang mahirap pa, 2 to 3 weeks akong away from home. Pero with everything else, adjusted naman na ako...

Question Number Two: Can you tell us more about your new TV teleserye? Ano ang role mo dito? At ano ang kaibahan nito sa iba mo pang mga nagawa mo nang teleserye?

RICHARD QUAN: I'll be playing the dad of Tony Labrusca, pero merong twist that I can't reveal muna... loud and insecure yung character ko... yun muna ang puede ko mention sa ngayon...Ang kaibahan nito, although youth-oriented sya, pero mas modern ang approach, at yung mga cast na bata, very interesting and exciting na ensemble...

Question Number Three: Isa ka sa mga heroic celebrities na naging Frontliner at talagang all-out ang ginawang pagtulong sa mga Covid-19 affected people. Would you say that the experience made you a better individual?

RICHARD QUAN: Definitely better... it made me realize a lot ofthings... what to prioritize... what really matters... and life is too short!

Question Number Four: Kapag nagkakausap-usap kayong mga artista ngayong Pandemic pa, paano ninyo napaglalabanan ang mga fears and insecurities ngayon sa buhay ng bawat celebrities?

RICHARD QUAN: Ngayon mas adjusted na ang karamihan sa aming mga artista... Pero a few months ago,halos lahat may takot because of the uncertainties... Ako lagi ko lang sinasabi salahat na be well-informed sila dapat para ma-erase ang fears nila... The more information and knowledge you have about a situation, the better you can handle it...

Question Number Five: Sa tingin mo, paano naman ang kahihinatnan ng movie industry ngayon? May mga offers ka ba sa pelikula these days?

RICHARD QUAN: Yup, madami naman offers, pero dahil lock-in taping, isa lang puwede mo tanggapin...

Question Number Six: Sa palagay mo ba, Richard, makakabalik pa o makakaahon muli ang movie industry after the Pandemic?

RICHARD QUAN: Makakabalik pa rin industry, inch by inch... all we needlng naman is the vaccine, then we are on our way to recovery... Let's see...

Question Number Seven: Isa ka sa mga aktor na may malinis naimahen o dating sa mga tao, Papa Chard. Kaya ang tanong ko, paano ba mapapanatili ng mga wholesome celebrities na tulad mo ang adoration o paghanga sa kanila ng publiko?

RICHARD QUAN:  Wala naman akong image, I am just being real and true tomyself...Just be matured enough to think of others... Be mindful of your actions, be responsible... Be a positive influence at all times ... Mahirap gawin minsan, kahit ako- work in progress pa din.

Last Question: Ano ang wish mo para sa lahat ng Pilipino sa darating na Kapaskuhan?

RICHARD QUAN: I wish everyone to have a safe holiday season... healthy sana ang lahat not only physically but mentally too...We will recover from this, it's just a matter of time.

Richard: a Celebrrity-Hero

Fresh from his daring charitable and heroic acts at the early part of the Covid-19 Pandemic, personally distributing bundles and sacks of relief goods in worst-stricken areas of the Covid-19 Pandemic, actor Richard Quan now receives a great blessing from Up There, that, of winning the Best Actor award at Accolade Global Film Competition.

This brings another great honor for the country. Together with director Ruben Ma. Soriquez and the rest of his co-actors, staff and crew of "The Spiders' Man". it brings upon more awe to the Philippines in which the film was shot a year ago. 

Richard's role in the film "The Spiders' Man" is very delicate and compelling- the character of an Autistic, semi-retardate man with great wisdom and intellect. Surely, one of his hardest roles so far.

Congrats, Richard. A celebrity hero only deserves the BEST.

Let me be personal again. That's why I am asking everyone to bear with me if I will use the word "I" again in this emotional piece. Because you see, amidst the great health crisis that the whole world is experiencing now, I found solace, refuge, love and positiveness to these four Filipino celebrity-actors whom I really value and cherish. Three of them are my Facebook friends, and one is an actress-daughter of an actor I considered as FRIEND.

RICHARD QUAN, GLENDA GARCIA, ALMA CONCEPCION AND BELA PADILLA.
But before anything else, I would like to say that, please don't think that I am simply flattering or making "bola-bola" to these people. As a writer/blogger, I just feel I must do my own task, my own "thing"- that, of contributing my own share of goodwill as a media person.

Lalo pa ngayon na boring ang life at wala namang ginagawa, bakit hindi magsulat na lang ng magandang bagay na ikai-inspire din ng lahat, hindi ba?

Because again, I say, in this critical times, we must all unite to do good and be positive amidst the DANGER that haunts all of us now. It's like an INVISIBLE ENEMY, ready to eat out lungs and destroy our body.

Now, the CELEBRITIES are simply doing their own parts, too. They are not afraid to SHARE a part of themselves. Brave enough to take risks, and show good examples to the people via their Facebook posts and daring acts of kindness and charity.

I am fond of MAKING LISTS. And that's why, I made-up my own list now of four people that really INSPIRED me in these critical times. These four celebrities contributed, loved, embraced. And it's but wonderful to give them back the GRATITUDE and a little tribute piece like this one.
Number one on my list is actor RICHARD QUAN. He is a living warrior-angel. Not afraid to face the battles and the risks. On his own little way, he volunteered to actress Bela Padilla in distributing relief goods and sanitation packs to many of our less-fortunate brothers and kababayans. No matter how threatening the virus was, he prepared himself like a SOLDIER. Complete with safety measures like alcohol, face mask, rubber gloves, and all, he went to the alleys and the many roads. Helping our fellowmen. The world needs a MAN like Richard!

Number two on my list is actress GLENDA GARCIA. In her Facebook posts, she's showing the right ATTITUDE and the WILL to combat the health crisis. She's posting the right foods to eat, the right physical exercises, the positive way of attacking the stress, the love for family, and a little time to still be hopeful amidst the gloom. F.Y.I,, Glenda is a breast cancer survivor, kaya naman mas lalong may dating sa amin ang maganda niyang attitude ngayon sa buhay. Mahahawa ka sa magagandang FB posts niya, magiging hopeful ka ule sa buhay. Ganu'n ang effect. Kudos. Glenda!

Number three on my list is Ms. ALMA CONCEPCION. Sobrang napaiyak ako sa post niya ukol sa only son niya na ang akala niya ay may Covid-19 virus na. I could almost feel her pains and her sacrifices. Inalagaan niya to the max ang one and only son niya na nagka-trangkaso, binantayan niyang maige at ikinuwento niya ang every little detail sa Facebook niya. The courage of a MOTHER could be truly felt. Sino pa bang celebrity ang makakagawa ng ganyang ka-daring na PAGMAMAHAL? Kaya mas lalo namin siyang hinangaan bilang tao. Mas lalo namin siyang nirespeto bilang isang celebrity na iniidolo ng marami. A perfect mom! And her acts inspired a lot of people. That with LOVE, we can conquer the THREAT. How inspiring!

And the fourth on my list and the last one is Ms. BELA PADILLA, of course. She organized and spear-headed a relief goods distribution. Personal niyang ginawa ito. Wala siyang takot na maski baka mahawaan siya ng virus sa paggagala-gala ng kasama niyang aktor na si Richard Quan sa pamamahagi ng mga relief goods ay sige pa rin sila. It entails a lot of sweat, sacrifices and tiredness, di ba? Lalo pa't ang mga artistang tulad nila ni Richard ay hindi naman sanay sa giyera, pero buong tapang pa rin nilang hinarap ito, makatulong lamang sa mga tao. A heroine, indeed.

SO THERE. I just wanna let these four celebrities know, sobrang pinahalagahan ko ang mga acts of kindnesses nila. Sobrang napansin ko ang honest iintentions nila sa kapwa, sobrang inakap ko ang pagiging LIVING ANGELS nila.

Sana, mapa-dilaw ka man o maka-pula, magsama-sama pa rin tayong lahat dito sa Entertainment Industry in doing what we can-

They always say that, when it rains, IT POURS. AND SOMEONE WHO'S BEEN GIVEN A LOT AND BLESSED MORE, GREAT MORE THINGS WILL BE ADDED MORE UPON HIM.

Just like to the case of one actor named RICHARD QUAN. Because of his inept goodness and generosity, good KARMA always brings him more luck and more added blessings in life.

And what more could be a good blessing but to win more recognition and victories, that, of being a Best Actor, not just here in the Philippines but also in international film festivals abroad.

After winning last year and this year also at two respective independent film festivals as Best Supporting Actor (at the TOFARM FILM FESTIVAL FOR THE FILM "1957"), and Best Actor (at Singkuwentro Film Festival early this year for the film "Kapayapaan Sa Gitna ng Digmaan"). This time around, Richard wins again- at the EPIFF (European Philippines International Film Festival) held in Florence, Italy. It happened last May 19 at Cinema Alfere in Florence, Italy.

"It was a very simple and cozy award-giving ceremony", Richard told a blogger over a cellphone conversation. "But I felt so touched and honored when I received the golden plaque of honor, winning the Best Actor. It's my very first international award. And surely, I will cherish it forever."

And this gave Richard another UPWARD turn and feeling. It inspired him more as an actor.

"I will be more positive now in my work as an actor and not to fail people's expectations", Richard quipped. "I could feel they will be asking for more expectations and demands. Kaya ninenerbyos ako sa mga susunod na gagawin ko. Yet, it challenges me more."

That's it. A good person, a very caring one, too, simply deserves all the BEST.
