San Pablo City in Laguna province is known for extravagance, festivities, old traditional ways of Filipino hospitality, and of course, artistic creations and well-known ARTISTS.

This is the kind of City "to die for". Many musical compositions- like that of the song Laguna by singer Sampaguita, were also born out of this great city. And now, a group of creative and young fashion designers-, all joined hands in supporting the Face of the Year 2018 search. 

Tomorrow, December 15, 2017, at the LE REVE Events Place along Sgt. Esguerra St., the San Pablo City fashion designers (the Fashion Designers Association of Laguna*) will showcase their creations in this Pre-Pageant event of Face of the Year 2018 called the GLAMOUR NIGHT.

All the candidates will wear beautiful evening gowns (for females) and fabulous Tuxedos or Formal Wear (for males), which were created and designed by these young and popular fashion designers of San Pablo City. 

In the said GLAMOUR NIGHT of the event, candidates will imitate Hollywood celebrities of their choices, as they walk along the red-carpet runway. Pretty exciting, isn't it? And oh, so FAB!

Winners of these so-called Glamour Night will automatically land on the TOP FIVE at the coming final Pageant Night on January 2018. More than 50 celebrities, film directors, talent casters, film producers, radio DJ's, visual graphic artists, bloggers and fellow models will judge the Glamour Night tomorrow of Face of the Year 2018.

Moda Ivanka, fashion designer

"This is our first time to support the Face of the Year", the beautiful Dames of Moda Ivanka said to a blogger. "That's why we're all pretty excited. It's Frances Ortiz, a female candidate and handsome Ram Rivera, a male candidate, who were both given to us to create clothes for them on the Glamour Night."

The two Dames of designer Moda Ivanka told a blogger that their designs are "simple but elegant", and it's up to the two candidates to carry them well.

Meanwhile, the Grand Matriarch of the San Pablo City fashion designers- in person of Sir Renato Atang Concibido, described the Face of the Year 2018 search as- "A very prestigious contest", he quipped. "It's a star-building contest, too, aside from being a modelling search. Many of those who won in this contest appeared in many print ads, TV commercials and the movies, as well."

Sir Renato is an old friend of Mr. Jojo Veloso, the man behind Face of the Year (FOTY). 

"I am happy because when my career started, FOTY became a part of it", he said. "And now that I am coming back, and so is FOTY. What a coincidence, di ba? I am so happy I was given a chance to support Mr. Jojo Veloso, who's a good friend of mine."

Sir Renato will dress-up two males and two female candidates at the Glamour Night tomorrow.

Another participating fashion designer from San Pablo City is Ms. Chiva Siason. She will dress up 4 candidates tomorrow- 2 boys and 2 girls.

"I'm hopeful that they will all give great justice to my designs and project my creations well", Chiva told a blogger. "It's also my first time to support FOTY."

Chiva describes her creations as- "Sexy, sophisticated, fierce and independent-minded."

And here comes Jenny Bernardo Belen, another fashion designer from San Pablo City participating in the event:

"I will be dressing-up tomorrow one male candidate and one female candidate", Jenny said. "My design for the female candidate is one simple Serpentine gown with fully-beaded design. It's a work of art!"

Jenny has been supporting many pageants in San Pablo City for the last 20 years.

And last but not the least is John Allan Nograles.

"The way I describe my designs? Well it's more on the artistic side!', John told a blogger. "It's also more on the creative side. It's what I like, you see. Something different that catches the eye."

John Allan describes the FOTY search as: "Not so commercialized and not reality-based as well", he said. "It's more on the prestige side pa din. It's a very daring search and I am so happy that FOTY is still existing. I love it."

If ever the models of John Allan wins, who will all wear his creations on tomorrow's event, what would he feel then?

"Oh, my!", John Allan said at the end. "I think I would feel so very proud. I will also be very happy. But more than that, I can say by now, I am so glad that I am a part of the Face of the year 2018 search!"

RAM RIVERA OFFICIALLY JOINS THE FACE OF THE YEAR 2018!

"Yes, puwede mo nang isulat, Robert", finally ay sinabi sa amin ni Mr. Jojo Veloso, head organizer ng Face of the Year 2018 search. "You can announce it anytime na. That Ram Rivera officially joins the Face of the Year!"

Kaya naman lately, panay na ang punta ni Ram sa gym to work-out. He wants to put his body in perfect shape para mas may laban siya. Wala pa kasing ka-experience-experience itong si Ram sa larangan ng mga personality searches. He is really a fresh discovery, kaya ganu'n na lamang ang paghahandang ginagawa niya.

Aside from the fact na pumirma na rin siya ng isang 3-year exclusive contract sa Philmoda (Philippine Modelling Agency) ni Jojo Veloso, maga-undergo muna si Ram ng proper training sa voice and dance lessons, pati na rin sa acting. In fact, kasali na siya sa darating na Acting Workshop na isasagawa ni Mr. Veloso sa province ng Zambales very soon. Si direk Neal Buboy Tan yata ang naatasang mag-conduct ng Acting Workshop nila.

"It's a great privelege on my part po na maging isa sa mga candidates ng Face of the Year", sabi pa ni Ram sa taong naka-discover sa kanya. "Alam kong diyan nanggaling ang karamihan sa mga sikat na modelo at mga artistang sikat ngayon. Kaya pagbubutihin ko po and I will do my best."

RAM RIVERA: PUMIRMA NA NG ISANG EXCLUSIVE MANAGERIAL CONTRACT SA PHILMODA

Wala na sigurong tataba pa ang puso kundi ang taong naka-discover sa kanya. Pinigil nito ang kanyang mga luha at emosyon nuong nakita niyang pumipirma na sa kontrata ang anak-anakan niyang si Ram Rivera sa isang 3-year exclusive managerial contract sa Philmoda (Philippine Modelling Agency) Artist Management ng batikan at pamosong si Mr. Jojo Veloso. Kasama ang handler niyang si Robert Silverio (kami po iyon- r.s.*), naganap ang pirmahan sa opisina ng Philmoda, last October 17, 2017. Si Mr. Silverio ang tumayong Guardian ni Ram kaya kasama ito sa pagpirma.

Naroon din nu'ng hapon na iyon ang ilang miyembro ng Bratboys na kinabibilangan nina Xander Pineda, Vincent Dajie Amura, Victor Rosales at Owen Cruz. Nag-pictorial agad si Ram, at kinagiliwan siya ng mga direktor at staff ng Sixteen Degrees Entertainment Productions.

Magiging busy na si Ram starting by the month of November dahil kasali na siya sa mga activities na gaganapin sa Face of the Year 2018, pati sa mga acting workshops, dance lessons and voice lessons na isasagawa naman ng Philmoda at Sixteen Degrees Entertainment Productions.

"Pupunta kami sa Zambales next month dahil duon idadaos ang acting workshop ng Philmoda's new set of actors and actresses", sabi pa ni Jojo Veloso, head ng Philmoda. "Nagkataong taga-Zambales pala itong si Ram. Matutuwa ang mga kakilala namin doon sa Zambales dahil may kababayan silang kasali sa workshop namin."

Yes, the Warrior is a Child. Ram Rivera may still be that young and innocent, but he's brave enough to face the battles.

RAM RIVERA: THE BOY-NEXT-DOOR...

"He is the boy next-door type!", bulalas na sabi ng magaling na high fashion photographer na si Edwin DC nu'ng makunan niya ang baguhang si Ram Rivera sa isang exclusive pictorial. "Maganda ang ngiti niya- ngiting Millenial!"

Ram stands 5'9" tall. He just turned 18 years at isinilang sa Marikina City pero lumaki sa Castillejos, Zambales. Napakamabait na bata, wala kaming maipintas sa magandang pag-uugali at asal niya. The best!

Kaya naman sa gitna ng mga efforts ng iba na sirain sa viral world ang manager/handler (kami po 'yun, ang blogger na ito-*) niya, hindi ito matitinag. Pagsisikapan pa rin niyang makatulong siya sa pagpasok ni Ram sa showbiz. Maging susi man lang siya sa pagbubukas ng pinto kay Ram ay okey na sa kanya.

Tinuturuan na siyang umarte ng kanyang manager ngayon. Pero iba pa rin kung mag-aaral siya ng Acting Workshop na marami siyang kasama. Kaya by summer of 2018, si Ram ang papipiliin namin kung saang theater group siya mag-aaral ng Acting Workshop niya. Sa Gantimpala Theater Foundation ba o sa Philippine Stagers Foundation o sa PETA o sa Culutral Center of the Philippines? Bahala na siya. Iba kasi pag sa teatro ang Acting Workshop, mas magaling. Pero hindi nangangahulugang sa teatro lang aarte si Ram. Papasok din siya sa telebisyon at pelikula.

Kaya hayan, nasa ibaba ang mga unang litrato ni Ram na kuha ng isang fashion photographer na si Mr. Edwin DC. May karapatan si Ram, di po ba?
