At first glance, you would think that he's a Korean guy,.. at second look, a Japanese guy... then on third look, a Chinese guy. But SORRY. All your guesses are all wrong. Joseph Menard Macasaet is a true-blooded Filipino. And he's among the male candidates of Face of the Year 2018. "Haha! And I'm already getting tired for being mistaken as a foreigner", Joseph Menard or JM for short- told to his blogger-friend. "I would want to be seen more as a Filipino. Because I am a Filipino by mind, body & soul. And I can say, I'm not happy anymore being seen always as a foreigner." With his chinito looks and very lovable smile, JM could easily capture your heart. Much more when he stared at your eyes for a long time- wow, it's as if you got lost somewhere in time. "It's because when I gaze at someone I love, I gaze that person coming from my soul", JM told a blogger again. "I look at you with sincerity, honesty and it penetrates my heart. Maybe because I am one very sensitive guy. I am like water, I can absorb everything." Oh, my. Anyway, being among the official male candidates of Face of the Year 2018, JM is happy to say, his modelling experiences had helped in the pre-pageant competitions of the said search. "I had ramp modelling experiences and it gave me so much confidence now", JM said again. "Iba pala 'yung may training ka na, plus-factor pala 'yun kasi mas madali mong nagagawa ang mga bagay-bagay. That's why I am positive naman, may laban din ako sa FOTY." But JM is not just for the winning. This guy, once given a chance and proper breaks in the acting and modelling field, could definitely soar higher- that, we guarantee. "Well, I look deeper into the heart of the person", JM said in the end. "And if that person could see me, too, I know, that person will also look deeper into my heart. If they would give me a break or a chance, well, thank you. But I will simply cross the bridge when I get there. I no longer wait. I am more of a happy-go-lucky guy." Kilala ang probinsya ng Bulacan sa pagkakaroon ng mga isinilang na MAKATA. Diyan din kasi ipinanganak si Francisco Balagtas- ang ama ng mga Makatang Pilipino. Kaya naman, nananalaytay na siguro sa dugo ni Rusel Christian Alvaran, isa sa mga lalaking kandidato sa FACE OF THE YEAR 2018 search, ang dugong MAKATA. Sa kanyang mga Facebook posts, mababasa mo minsan ang mga mala-tulang FB statuses niya. Lalo na 'yung isang tulang ginawa niya sa kanyang INA. Nakakatusok sa puso. Napakagaling niyang lumikha ng mga salita. Isang kabataang hindi nilimot ang kahalagaan ng mga malalalim na salitang Tagalog. Anyway, si Rusel ay 20 years old pa lamang. Tubong Paombong, Bulacan siya. And he describes himself as: "Mabait, humble, masipag" na tao. Crush niya si Liza Soberano at idol naman niya si Derek Rose, isang basketball player sa Chicago Bulls. "Ang mga talents ko po ay acting and dancing", sabi ni Rusel. "Hindi po inaasahang napasama ako bilang isa sa mga kandidato ng Face of the Year 2018 nu'ng biglaang isama ako ni Mommy Joy sa auditions nila. Si Mommy Joy po ay isang make-up artist. At sabi ko sa sarili ko, wala namang mawawala kung susubukan ko." Nakapasa naman sa auditions si Rusel at napiling isa sa mga official candidates ng nasabing search. At hindi niya malilimutan 'yung mga natutunan niya sa Acting Workshop ng FOTY. "I guess, 'yun ang happiest experience ko sa lahat", sabi pa ni Rusel. "kasi po, doon ko na-express lahat ang talent ko sa pag-arte. Kahit hindi po ako ganu'n kagaling, I gave my best talaga. At hindi ko inaasahan na may ganu'n kagaling na talent pala ako. Salamat po kina Sir Jojo veloso, direk Neal Tan, blogger Robert- dahil sila ang mga nag-guide sa amin du'n sa Acting Workshop." Inihahanda na ngayon ni Rusel ang sarili niya sa padating na Finals ng FOTY. Hindi naman daw na-discourage ang karamihan sa mga kandidato maski na-delay ang nasabing contest. Basta ang mahalaga raw ay matutuloy na ito. "Diyan po nakasalalay ang mga pangarap ko", pagtatapos na sabi ni Rusel. "Kung papalarin po ako sa mundo ng modelling at pag-arte, itutuloy ko talaga. Kung hindi naman po, maghahanap ako ng ibang trabaho." Naka-suporta naman daw kay Rusel ang kanyang pamilya. Ang mga ito ang inspirasyon niya.
