THE FILIPINO, HE COULD STILL MANAGE, HE COULD STILL SMILE.

NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TRY TO PUT HIM DOWN,

THE FILIPINO WINS... AND REMAINS STANDING UNTIL THE END.

CRIES, BREAKDOWNS, ANGERS...

BUT AS LONG AS FILIPINOS HOLDS THEIR HANDS TOGETHER,

THEY WILL WIN.

"iF WE WILL JUST LOVE!"-- '2'

LA LUNA SANGRE: WHEN THE DREAMING NEVER ENDS (review no. 2 on the 2nd and 5th episodes of this primetime TV drama)...

Sometimes, love takes on a journey in an ending swing. It may be painful, funny, sad or violent. But love have its own reasons why- only God can comprehend and understand- why it has to end.

A soul lingers on to carry a lingering journey- just like a "lone jihad" out to spread a message. The message may be confusing or distracting, but still, it carries on.

It's a lonely soul out to fulfill a task. Can it be for LIFE? or DEATH? FOR NOW, only that soul ... knows.

The sacrifices made by the people who loves you, at the expense of their own lives, should never be put to waste. And thus, the soul, no matter how tired... lingers on.

The 5th episode of LA LUNA SANGRE, the latest Primetime TV Drama on ABS-CBN channel 2- was the most important episode  of all- that could fell on all aspects and conflicts- and  concluded-, that it's still LOVE that saved.

As John Lloyd Cruz' (who portrayed the role of Mateo- the father of the female child branded and prophesied  as 'itinakda') brutal and violent death happened, you could feel so much pain. The actor performed with vast and wide range of emotions, intensity and yet, calmed by his gentle looks and ways. The death of his character only further attested the true and everlasting love he felt for his family. He tried to save them, but even the woman he so dearly loved (magnificently and so heart-warmingly portrayed by Angel Locsin) was slain by the avenging vampire (portrayed by Richard Guttierez). The vampire's hand became a barbecue stick that stabbed both of them.

There was a female child who laid among John Lloyd and Angel. But it was NOT their child, it was not the 'itinakda'. The 'itinakda' managed to escape, riding on a big werewolf as she cried and cried (portrayed by a new but very good child actress we could not know and distinguish on the opening credits of the teleserye). But that child would grow-up soon as Kathryn Bernardo.

If roles on TV dramas are like these- actors and actresses would be much valued and loved. The effect of the roles were too heavy, even though they died, their shadows and existence on this great TV drama would last FOREVER.

And the music played on. Towards the end, as the beloved characters laid there- DEAD. The song Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin was finally played. This song was the soul of the STORY, on the continuing saga and conflicts among vampires and wolves.

There they were, killing each other. Biting one another. Jumping and flying high- NON-STOP. How could a woman director, in person of Ms. Cathy Garcia-Molina do these and execute those stuff. Marvelous. Because the effect was all TOO MANLY. You could not justify any reasons why a woman could direct those action-packed scenes. Unbelievable.

"It's like a full-length film inside a theater house that I was watching", the eldest sister of a blogger told him. "The actors were amazing, all of them are so good. What a great casting coup."

We did agree. Most especially on the presences of Romnick Sarmenta (who's so outstanding on all the first four episodes, almost stealing-away the acting greatness of John Lloyd Cruz- but John Lloyd made great efforts on his final scenes of death- and the stealing-away was never grabbed), Dino Imperial (the prophesier characterization was superb), Gelli de Belen, Ina Raymundo, Victor Neri, Wowie de Guzman and, the child actor who would soon be Daniel Padilla (paging, Mr. Aaaron Domingo, you should have invited us on some media presscons of the show 'coz we couldn't assert on the opening credits the name of this great child actor! Ha-ha. Ouch---*R.S.)

Even though the theme of this TV drama series was dark and suspenseful, it's nice to know that it was presented in a FILIPINO way and local rural setting. Especially the provincial look, the old Filipino habits and tradition. It further added gloss and cinematic awe to this wonderful teleserye.

The costumes, clothes that were all worn were authentic, colorful, classy (on the vampire costumes) and articulate. The sea that sorrounded, and the wild  forest..., the mountains and the hills, the smiles on the corn fields-, that, only the Production Designers and Art Directors could offer much outstandingly.

Credits also goes to the bit players and all the supporting cast- with brief scenes that shocked and astonished you. No matter how short were the roles that they all portrayed- they were played with much angst and weight.

Kudos to all the Creative People who're behind this show.

*****************************

And that soul walked on. And on and on and on...

He walked amidst the side streets, dark alleys, shadowing post lights of unending search and dreams.

When the dreaming never ends, the children would continue what's left of the fight.

because,

it was not the fight for the supremacy of vampires, nor the werewolves-

IT WAS-

the fight for LOVE and its true meaning.

that triumphed until

THE END.

RAVE REVIEW PARA SA PILOT EPISODE NG "LA LUNA SANGRE"!

JOHNLLOYD

ANGEL

KATHRYN

DANIEL

Sa trailer pa lang ng "la luna sangre", everytime mapanood ko sa TV, nasabik na ako. and last night, finally, the long wait is over! i was able to watch a teleserye that's worth my time, walang panghihinayang and truly satisfying. this new teleserye offered a multi-dimensional aspect. as i watched it kagabi, wow, i was transported in many dimensions of space and time! nakuha ni direk Cathy Garcia Molina ang right approach- combining elements of suspense, tranquility, thrill, delight and LOVE. nakuha na niya lahat in one great story plot/material- na talagang gugustuhin ng masa.

Angel Locsin was superb in style and subtlety as an actress. Maski chinita ang eyes niya- nangungusap, may sinasabi. Si John Lloyd Cruz naman, kaibig-ibig to the max. Walang babaeng hindi matatapilok o mapapatihaya sa kaguwapuhan ng lalaking ito- captured so magnificently on the TV screen by the cinematographers of this teleserye! Lutang na lutang ang maaamong mga mata ni John Llloyd! While si Romnick Sarmienta naman, hindi pa rin kumukupas sa kagalingan bilang isang aktor. Remember, Romnick used to be one of the best male child actors that the Philippine Cinema has produced.

Okey din sa suporta si Gelli de BelenJoross Gamboa at si ms. Ina Raymundo Poturnak. Kuhang-kuha nila ang mga characters nila- sa mga first few scenes pa lamang nila. Next to them were the child actors and actresses- kay GAGALING at kay ku-cute!

Sorry, 'yung mga outstanding performers lamang ang puwede naming ma-mention sa RAVE REVIEW na ito sa first episode ng LA LUNA SANGRE kagabi nga. The rest, we still have to scrutinize very soon.

PANALO!!!

We would like to bow and take our hats-off to the great Production DesignerS and Art DirectorS of this new teleserye. Grabe, ang gagaling RIN nila.

And finally, KUDOS, ABS-CBN, for bringing-up another worthwhile entertainment on PRIMETIME TV!
