BACK HOME, WITH KIEL ALO (a review to his concert "Back Home" at Music Box last December 18)....

a press item on kiel's BACK HOME concert

It was definitely the most beautiful concert that I had seen in the year 2020. Although the venue was just a simple sing-along bar (but we've seen other more concerts in Solaire, Resorts World, New Frontier theater, and others) named Music Box, it wasn't the venue, indeed, but the very soul of the concert, the rhythm the flowed along, and the male lead singer that simply lingered-on in our minds.

"This concert you directed, Jobert, is the most beautiful one I had seen", we whispered to Mr. Jobert Sucaldito, the one who directed this Back Home concert of Aliw Awardee Marc Kiel Alo. "And Kiel is so so good. I won't ever forget this concert."

Via the concert Back Home, we now realized that a good concert is undeniably a good one even if it is staged in a lesser venue. It doesn't really matter. What matters is the good repertoire of songs (kudos to Mr. Butch Miraflor, the Musical Director of this concert) and the singers of songs who all participated in this concert- and most of all- Mr. Marc Kiel Alo, the one who holds this great concert.

Kiel was effortlessly good, suave, soulful and charming as he delivered the songs. After having a good training in the Theater world (thanks to director Frannie Zamora, the one who trained Kiel in good posture while singing songs in the much-acclaimed play "Kanser" of Gantimpala Theater Foundation),  Kiel looked so unbelievably confident onstage, an act and impression which is common among theater performers. And when Kiel mixed his moves with charismatic manners, the more he looked and sounded so elegant, especially when he sang his opening song number "Call Me".

As the other young male singers, the likes of Carlo Mendoza, L.A. Santos, and Kyle Matthew appeared onstage, there was this great wonderful feeling of seeing new and fresh promising singers out to conquer your hearts. As they bonded together on stage singing songs like "Ang Huling El Bimbo", "Kisapmata", "O, Pare Ko", and the likes, the real message of the concert was felt: That, it's time now for more good-looking singers and male ones at that, to conquer the Music Industry.

The appearances of gay comedians-singers on stage was a super hit. Mr. Sucaldito simply knew how to delight his audience. It was like a bomb exploding when one gay impersonator fascinated everyone singing a song whose lyrics he changed into a 'Nissin crackers melody' kind of song and passed-along up the air packets of Nissin Ramen crackers to the audience.

Surely, this kind of a concert was something we will never forget. And it further guaranteed, Mr. Marc Kiel Alo has arrived and could now be leveled-up to the statuses of other singers like Michael Pangilinan, Jed Madela and Christian Bautista. He now surely belongs to that category.

Bravo! BACK HOME with Kiel Alo concert was surely the best.

As in FOREVER.

"WHEN KIEL ALO'S MOMENT TURNS INTO SOMETHING ELSE" (A REVIEW TO KIEL ALO's 'AKO NAMAN' CONCERT AT THE MUSIC MUSEUM )...

When Kiel Alo's moment turns into something else (aside from the 'Morisette walkout scandal' that ended quite good), you would spell the word VERSATILITY in its very best manner of spelling. Because surely, Kiel has proven to everyone the many different aspects of his talent as a singer. That he could perform well, sing well, dance well, deliver his spiels well, and connect to the audience well.

When he sang one of his FINALE songs at the end of his concert- the song "This Is The Moment", you would feel certainly that Kiel now belonged to the ranks of our top male singers of today. He carried his own concert well with confidence, proper stage posture, relaxed attitude and a powerful impact. His voice could be stretched upon so well, mixing-in with the other guest-performers, and varies in style and fine executions.

Aside from the performance of the song "This Is The Moment", we also loved listening to Kiel's new recording song, composed by veteran Vehnee Saturno, entitled "Aasa Ka Pa". It was so good, and suits Kiel's voice so well.

When Kiel sang the song Senorita (originally sang by Shawn Mendez) , he was also acting. He exuded great sexiness in his simple moves and little dances, alongside with a SexBomb girl who danced so pretty well, we could imagine Kiel turning out to be another Ricky Martin someday.

And that is, VERSATILITY.

Be it classical, be it Pop, be it a religious worship song like Hallelujah, be it a-la 'Magic Mike' song like Pony- Kiel delivered it all so well.

Far beyond our expectations, Kiel's moment indeed shone so much brightness, so much promise, so much satisfaction.

With the great support he got from veteran and respected singers like Mr. Jun Polistico and Ms. Eva Eugenio (both considered ICONS in the music industry--rms*.), you would certainly feel and know, these two icons supported Kiel on his last concert because they believed so much in his talent- like anointing him to be like them someday- lasting for a very long time as singer-performers.

Yeah, when Kiel Alo's moment turns into something else,

more doors will open.

Amidst the never-ending rainbows of-

FOREVER.

BELOW ARE MARC KIEL'S OWN WORDS:

"My concert on November 6 at the Music Museum, it's going to be very different sa lahat ng concerts ko na nagawa na. I promise them all, maso-sorpresa talaga sila at magagandahan."

"Yes po, may mga production numbers ako sa birthday concert na parang Magic Mike ang dating. 'Yung tipong I will strip and take-off my shirt. And more than that, I will dance for the very first time na Magic Mike nga ang dating."

"Kaya nga po, panay ang ensayo ko ngayon sa gym in preparation for my concert. Kailangan fit na fit talaga ako sa concert, without any baby fats sa katawan ko. Yes, it's gonna be HOT talaga."

"Ngayon ko na-realize ang sinasabi palagi sa akin ni Nany Jobert noon na huwag daw akong magmamadali. Ngayon ko mas naunawaan ang mga payo ni Nanay Jobert. That evrything falls in the right places, at the proper time."

"Special guests ko sa birthday concert ko sina Morisette Amon, Janno Gibbs, Jun Polistico, Eva Eugenio, Mara of Sexbomb, L.A. Santos at siyempre, ang kapatid ko sa puder ni Nanay Jobert na si Carlo Mendoza."

"After the play Kanser ng Gantimpala Theater Foundation, npakalaki ng naging growth ko as a person and as an actor. And definitely, as a singer, too! Kasi mas naging confident ako, pati 'yung posture ko and impact sa audience, mas napansin kong mas lumawak pa. Sa tulong ng direktor ko doon na si direk Frannie Zamora, all his great training added up to my personality."

"Acting and singing are 2 things na hindi ko puwedeng pagsabayin, pero nagawa ko iyon sa dulang Kanser. At 'yun nga, iba pa rin ang mundo ng concerts and pop entertainment. Kaya sa November 6 birthday ko, singer ako. At sa November 21 naman na next performance namin sa dulang Kanser 2019, aktor ako."

"I am so grateful to the Lord for this blessings. I offer my talents to HIM."

ONCE UPON TIME AND ONCE UPON A KIEL ALO...

kiel: there was love, once upon a time

kiel: from far afar

kiel: joining the veterans

He might not know it, but someone was looking at him from far-away, in one dark lonely corner, as he chatted with his manager and friends.

He was looking rather suave, dignified and almost like a James Bond. His ways were gentle and sweet. His smiles could reach the farthest millennial of stars.

Once upon a time, someone did love him- but that love somehow faded-out, upon the advice and the concern of his manager- who's a friend of them both.

Once upon a time and once upon a Kiel Alo, there was a moment of tenderness and longing. But in existing upon the harsh realities of life and the world we live in, things needed some compromising tasks and wills, in order to survive, in order to outlast some pretty selfish tests of time.

There was Kiel Alo that night at the Historia bar, in a concert wherein he was among the Finale acts, in support to his friends from the media- The Entertainment Arts Media (or TEAM, for short). Because you see, right from the very start, Kiel and his manager Jobert Sucaldito, had always been nice and good to members of the working Media. They will always be there for them.

Seated beside Kiel at that night of the party, a blogger felt the 'hangover' of Kiel's recently-concluded concert together with some veterans and great singers from the Entertainment scene. He performed there with the likes of Ms. Carmen Soriano, Pilita Corrales, Jun Polistico, Janno Gibbs and Hajji Alejandro. He was the only young person in the group. Oh, my.

"Yes, Kuya Robert, until now I am feeling the hangover", Kiel answered back to the blogger seated beside him. "It happened at the the Manila Hotel, the venue of that concert of ours- with me singing along with Pilita Corrales, Carmen Soriano, Jun Polistico, Janno Gibbs and the rest. I felt so blessed and inspired to be among with them on that concert. They all welcomed me warmly and almost like a family, and with that, the more I felt so touched.

"Grabe, inalalayan talaga ako nina Jun Polistico at Janno Gibbs", Kiel further added. "Even Tita Carmen and Tita Pilita. They guided me while I was singing the songs. They all lifted me up. They all wanted to bring out the very best of me."

It was Ms. Daisy Romualdez, a veteran actress during Sampaguita days, who got Kiel perform on that Manila Hotel concert. Ms. Romualdez got so enthralled upon hearing Kiel sang on his Music Box concert last February of this year, that's why she got him this time on that Manila Hotel concert.

"I sang songs like To Love Somebody, A Song For You and My Love on that Manila Hotel concert of ours", Kiel revealed. "And my repertoire blended well with the others. I know I still have a lot to learn, and singing alongside with these bunch of great and veteran singers, it made me feel on top of the world."

Right now, Kiel and his manager Jobert Sucaldito are both preparing for his next solo concert on the month of August. Kiel is also out to record his very first single, which will be the third part of the "Pare, Mahal Mo Ba Ako" series of songs. After "Pare, Mahal Mo Ba Ako?", the second single "Pare, Mahal Naman Kita" was released. Now, it's Kiel's part. The answer on that second part of song, he will soon record.

"And it's going to be my very first recording single, finally", Kiel said. "They are now arranging everything. It's going to be direk Joven Tan who will compose the song."

*************   *************   *************

Yes, once upon a time, there was once upon a Kiel Alo.

In the merging of old and new

in the presence of many other different new breed of male singers and male celebrities.

One Kiel Alo stood above the rest.

And somehow conquered

the heart

and the soul

of you and me-

FOREVER.

KIEL ALO: A DELAYED BUT DEEPER LOOK INTO HIS CAPTIVATING SINGING VOICE (a review at his last Valentine's concert)....

kiel: maintaining an original style amids a variety of songs

kiel in his last concert (photo by: dominic rea)

kiel ina captivating night (photo by: dominic rea)

One thing a blogger noticed much about Kiel Alo in his recently-held concert at the Music Box before Valentine's Day (almost two weeks ago) was his originality in style, delivery and performance. Never a copy cat. He executed songs in his own way of singing, in his own version, in his own rhythm.

Whether it's a feminine song- the likes that Karen Carpenter sings or Adele or even a Regine Velasquez repertoire- Kiel does it on his own way and made those feminine songs sounded so masculine.

That was his last Valentine's concert- entitled "PSSST....I LOVE YOU" at the Music Box, and the most enigmatic part was his duet with legendary singer Malu Barry, and his also, his own rendition of the song My Funny Valentine.

His Musical Director, Mr. Butch Miraflor also did a good job. The songs that Kiel all sang that night were heaven-like to the ears and very smooth-flowing. But one song did captivate us the most in his very captivating voice- it was the song First of May (originally sang by the Bee Gees). When he sang it, it almost blew our mind away.

We asked our self, how come Kiel was still so low-key in his status and rank as a male singer? He could, by now, be among the A-List of singers- being guested here and there, appearing in many shows and concerts and gigs, and having a larger venue to perform?

But we answered: "Maybe Kiel will have his own time. Maybe God has His own reasons why. Maybe when the right moment sparks, it's gonna be Forever."

In one delightful and loving night of Adelle songs and others, too, Front Desk Entertainment of Mr. Jobert Sucaldito offered and presented an award-winning cozy concert that night- worth of a nomination for the coming Aliw Awards this year of 2019.

Just one slight 'miss': Macoy Mendoza, a promising singer, missed singing as a guest that night because he was sick. But he was there to watch and support his Kuya Kiel.

How much we desire an encore for this concert. Because Kiel, with his precise and authentic originality as a performer- surely deserves....

A SECOND CHANCE.

KIEL ALO AT EZEKIEL: HINDI NAGPADAIG KAY DESSA SA NAKARAANG CONCERT NILA...

kiel and ezekiel with friends at their last concert gig

kiel: so manly

ezekiel: so boyish

Buong-buo ang tinig ni Kiel Alo, talagang nanggagaling sa puso, samantalang itong si Ezakiel naman, precise and very clear-sounding ang timbre ng boses. Parehong panalo.

GALINGAN NYO PA MORE, KIEL AT EZEKIEL!!!--- (written and blogged by: robert silverio)

ANYWAY, NASA IBABA ANG FB POST MISMO NG MANAGER NILANG SI JOBERT SUCALDITO UKOL SA PAGIGING PROUD MAMA NITO SA NAKARAAN NILANG KONSIYERTO:

"Can't be prouder of my two new artists - KIEL ALO and EZEKIEL HONTIVEROS! I was extremely surprised by your splendid performance sa Music Box last night. Lalaking tunay. Ha! Ha! Ha!
Oh my Dessa. Halimaw ka talaga sa stage anak. You made me so happy last night. Miss na miss kita sobra and alam mo iyan. Alam mo naman that my favorite song of you ay ang Superwoman.
Labyu, Ivan anak.
Mwah!
Eh humabol sina Boobsie Wonderland, Beki Belo and Prima Diva Billy.
Eric Luzung na ka-table ko almost the whole night - thanks for the blessings Fr. Eric; sina Mommy Genesis Gallos and Madam Chiqui who came with the other Pink Mannequins and boys to give us the much-needed moral support; ang sobrang mabait na may-ari ng Music Box na si Boss Wawi de Dios and baby kong si Danjosh Zacarias na palaging bukas ang venue nila para sa amin - thanks a million!; ang best friend for life kong si Papa Ahwel Paz na talagang sarap ng kuwentuhan namin with Prima Diva Billy and Kiel Alo; Roel Caba of the Philippines with Otic the great; ang superstars nating sina Boy de Leon and Edgar Gomez na palagi kong nami-miss; ang anak kong si Douglas Brocklehurst who checked kung ayos na ba ang production side ng show; ang mga anak-anakan natin sa media like Dominic Rea na maaga pa lang ay kasama ko na sa rehearsals till the end of the show kahit may morning flight pa siya pa-Mindanao para sa libing ng kaniyang pinsan- rk villacorta with some bloggers who have always been very supportive- boy romero na inasikaso ang ibang mga press friends natin - si tito bong de leon ay nandoon din, so were beth gelena, blessie cirera, linda cabuhayan, anthony solis, who else? Sorry kung may nakaligtaan ako ha.
Basta to everyone including siyempre the staff ng Music Box, maraming-maraming salamat sa inyong lahat. Nakisama pa ang panahon - di umulan the whole time during the concert, di ba? Thank you Lord God for giving us the chance na makapagpasaya ng mga tao sa event naming ito - and to those who sponsored the concert, maraming-maraming salamat. Till our next show. Mwah!"---- jobert sucaldito
