"I won't ever get tired of singing, listening and loving Filipino music", Ms. Tessie Lagman-Balboa, a radio icon, once told a blogger. "It is US. It's our Filipino roots. It's the soul of our Nationalistic spirit."
That's why every Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Ms. Tessie Lagman-Balboa's weekly radio show entitled Sama-Sama, Salo-Salo, Filipino music would be heard everywhere, as Tessie's 4-S Pamilya members sing alongside with her in a mixture of various Filipino songs and music.
"I want to continue on with the true Legacy of Filipino music", Tessie added."Pero siyempre, para ma-capture din natin ang Millenial audience, I let our younger members of 4-S Pamilya sing modern Pop songs also. But basically, at the end of our radio show, we all sing altogether a Filipino song. That's the true spirit of our radio program
"And you see, Robert, marami rin palang genre ang Filipino music", Tessie quipped."May Kundiman, may folk music, may Harana, may old classical music, at iba pa. Not all could be labeled as a Kundiman song. They have many forms and variety."
This coming Sunday, September 30, Ms. Tessie's guests will include handsome singer Lance Raymundo, who will promote there his new song You Are The One, and teeners/fashion models Nicole Almirez, Faith Maure and Richel Tinawin. How we wish, these teeners, including Lance, will all sing one Tagalog song altogether. That would be wonderful.
The 4-S Pamilya singers/members of Tessie includes: Ms. Corazon Garcia, Cenen Garcia, Ray Lucero, Tony Suvega, Rafael Centenera, Hazel Mae Ursais, Reymond Agbada, Karl Sipat, Sammy Rascal, Reynelyn Mercado, Eddie Suarez, and Mr. Ver Dayap. Non-singers/members of 4-S Pamilya, on the other hand, are: Ms. Nancy Sipat, Pitimini and blogger Robert Silverio.
More power to Ms. Tessie Lagman-Balboa and 4-S Pamilya!!!
