In one coffee break during the rehearsals of Ang Martir Sa Golgota, actor Lance Raymundo managed to have a brief tete-a-tete with a blogger. They talked mostly about JESUS, since Lance is portraying Jesus Christ in the upcoming Senakulo entitled Ang Martir Sa Golgota.
For Lance, there are no heavy expectations, whatsoever, that he'd get something good in return for portraying the Son of God. All he wished for is that it would somehow reach the hearts of the youth, about the glory of Jesus Christ and his sacrifices for mankind.

SWORDSHINES10: Who is Jesus Christ for you, Lance?

LANCE: Jesus Christ for me is my brother, my friend, my neighbor, my father, my gym buddy- everything- all rolled into ONE. People who hurt me, praise me, ridicule me, support me- if you can see Him in everybody, in each one of us, He is that person. Even people who did bad things on you, Jesus is there, too. And I also see Him in myself. Jesus is Omnipresent.

SWORDSHINES10: How would you attack your role as Jesus Christ in Martir Sa Golgota?

LANCE: I would have no conscious effort to copy what other actors did when they all portrayed Jesus Christ in the past. If I portray jesus Christ now, I will portray Him as an ordinary person who did great things for men. And He is NOT a person of the past, but rather, a person of today.

There's one scene in our Senakulo that I was looking for my 12 disciples- me as Jesus. And He chose ordinary people to be His disciples. Common people can relate to that scene. My director, Lou Veloso, attacked it in a different way. It's not so holy, but it's so realistic.

SWORDSHINES10: Can you say that you are the sexiest Jesus Christ ever, Lance? This is my last question.

LANCE: I really don't know. It's up for them to see.
