"Thanks for the prayers last night, I feel better now and I had a good night rest. I woke up early and had a nice selfie with Mayon.

I had a weird experience here. Last night I posted that I will try to have a conversation with Mayon. It was a joke of course. 

I was the first to arrive in the Lava wall. Syempre picture agad but my camera did not work. All my pictures since yesterday were erased and the sd card was not working too. I replaced my card but the same thing happened. I again took another card but still my camera was not recording. Finally, I decided to be silent for a minute and asked permission if I can take pictures and ayun gumana na si camera.

I am just sharing an experience and not trying to say that there is something paranormal on what happened. On the other hand, I have observed in the past that some gadgets really malfunction and cameras will not take pictures when there is a presence of some unseen friends. Nangyari yan sa bahay ko and ganun lang din ginawa namin, nagpaalam kami ng mga classmates ko.. Ganyan din sinabi sa amin sa isang pinakalumang bahay sa CArcar na magpa alam muna kami to take pictures kasi madalas walang lumalabas sa camera pag napaglaruan he he. Bahala na kayo kung maniniwala o hindi., pero masakit pa ring nabura lahat ng pictures ko since yeasterday hu hu .

Kadalasan talaga, nasa magandang pagtanggap at sincere na pakikitungo mas madarama ng mga media people ang tunay na pag-uugali ng mga celebrities. Nasa maayos na usapan, pakikipagkita at pakikipag-ugnayan. Doon, mas madarama mo ang lahat.

Tunay namang na-impress ang isang blogger sa magandang pakikisalamuha na ipinakita sa kanya ng isang aktres sa Teatro, kasama ang butihin niyang asawa, nu'ng minsang makapanayam ito sa isang sosyal na coffee house sa bagong bukas na The Circuit Ayala Malls sa may Makati. Kasi, wala ni katiting na kaplastikang ipinakita si THERESA MORTEL sa pag-iinterbyu sa kanya ng isang blogger. Kaya naman napakaganda ng iniwan nitong impresyon sa manunulat na kaharap niya.

"High school pa lang po ako nu'ng una kong matuklasan ang hilig ko sa pag-arte",  nasabi ni Theresa sa blogger sa isa sa mga naging katanungan nito sa kanya. "Although medyo strict ang mom ko noon, gumagawa na lang po ako ng magagandang excuses para payagan niya akong mag-rehearse noon sa mga school plays namin. Sabi ko sa mom ko, hindi ako makaka-graduate kapag hindi ko tatapusin ang play kase part 'yun sa curriculum ko sa school. Kapag sinabi ko na 'yun sa mom ko, pumapayag na siya na mag-rehearsal ako sa plays namin sa school.

"Hanggang sa may makapansin sa aking talent scout nuon at gusto akong kuning sexy star", dugtong na sabi ni Theresa. "Kasi po, nu'ng bagets pa ako, hindi ako skinny at hindi rin mataba. Maganda ang forms ng body ko at sexy ako. Nu'ng magka-asawa ako, duon lang ako tumaba. Kaya nu'ng bata pa ako, talagang kinukuha akong maging sexy star o lumabas sa mga bold films.

"Pero hindi ko po hilig ang maghubad, eh", anya pa. "Tinanggihan ko ang mga offers sa akin na mag-artista sa pelikula dahil kalimitan nuon, gusto nila, magpa-seksi ako. Ayoko ng ganun. Ang passion ko ay pag-arte, hindi ang magpa-sexy. Kaya mas ginusto kong sa Teatro na lang umarte mula nuon."

Kamakailan lang, marami ang humanga sa magaling na performance na ipinakita ni Theresa sa Senakulong Martir sa Golgota ng Tanghalang Santa Ana. Gumanap siya roon bilang si Martha, ang kapatid nina Mary magdalene at Lazarus na pawang mga disipulo ni Hesus.

"Isang malaking hamon po para sa kakayahan ko bilang isang aktres ang gumanap sa papel na Martha", sabi pang muli ni Theresa. "At napakalaki ng pasasalamat ko kay direk Lou Velso dahil nagbigay siya ng freedom sa aming lahat na kami na ang bahalang mag-attack o mag-execute sa respective characters namin. Kapag kulang ang ibinibigay naming pagf-atake sa role, doon lang magsasalita si direk Lou na kulang yung intensity. Kapag sobra naman, sasabihin din ni direk Lou na sobra at OA (over-acting) na kami."

Samantala, ang naging very memorable para kay Theresa all-throughout her journey sa pagtatanghal last Holy Week ng Senakulo nila ay ang napakagandang pakikitungo sa kanilang lahat ng aktor na si Lance Raymundo.

"Masyado siyang down-to-earth at mapagkumbaba", sabi ni Theresa. "He will go out of his way para kausapin ka at kumustahin at kapag rehearsals namin, umuupo pa 'yan sa sahig! wala siyang kaarte-arte, hindi po tulad nu'ng ibang artistang nakilala ko, kailangan pang bigyan ng silya, kailangan pang istimahin ng husto at hindi mo basta-basta malalapitan. Si Lance, hindi po ganu'n. Marunong siyang makibagay sa lahat ng tao.

"Maski 'yung mga batang madudumi sa Sta. Ana, hindi niya iniiwasan. Nakikipaglaro pa nga siya sa mga ito, e", dugtong na wika ni Theresa. "Ako na lang ang nagpapaalis du'n sa mga madudungis na bata kasi alam kong kailangan nang mag-rehearse at magtrabaho ni Lance. Naiistorbo dahil sa kanila. Wow, iba talaga si Lance!"

Sa pagtatapos, isa lang ang masasabi namin. Si Theresa Mortel ay hindi lang basta isang aktres sa mundo ng Teatro, pang-artistahin din siya.

"madalas na rin po akong nagge-guest sa mga TV shows and teleseryes", pagtatapos na wika ni Theresa. "Sa Probinsyano po, maka-ilang beses na akong lumabas. Duon sa mga earlier episodes ng Probinsyano, ako 'yung nurse na gumamot kay Coco Martin. Nakalabas na rin ako sa iba, marami na rin po.

"Acting is really my passion", pagwawakas pa ni Theresa. "Maski ang dalawang anak ko at ang mister ko, sumasabak na rin ngayon sa pag-arte. It's all in the family. And so far, wala naman po kaming pagsisisi sa napili naming propesyon na ito."

After a very effective portrayal as Jesus Christ in the recently-concluded Senakulo entitled Martir sa Golgota last Holy Week, it seemed that actor-singer Lance Raymundo is now attending to the other aspects of his being a Celebrity. And what followed immediately after was his great hosting stints at the FAMAS Awards.

After hosting a month ago the Nominees Night at the FAMAS Awards, a couple of days back, last April 28, Lance Raymundo co-hosted with Xian Lim and Rikki Mathay the final awarding ceremonies at Famas. But before that, Lance got busy at the Red Carpet, interviewing the celebrities and the excitement they feel on that night.

"Almost all the best people in the industry attended the Famas awards", Lance told a blogger. "And they all said to me, Famas is already an institution in Philippine showbiz. I am so happy now to be a part of it as one of the hosts.

"I bonded well with Xian Lim and Rikki Mathay", Lance continued on to say. "We all had a great time hosting the event. And I am looking forward that next year, I'll still be among the hosts.

"Congratulations to all the winners in this year's Famas. As I saw them, they were all so inspired to have the award with them. After Famas, I will be hosting another film fest awarding. It's an indie film festival coming-up within the month. I will be telling you more about that soon", Lance ended saying.

A lot of star-gazing people, fashion designers, ordinary fashion police & critics- got all "wowed" with Lance's great black suit, made by Chancellor 9000, exclusively for Lance. The suit fitted Lance so well and he's among the Best-Dressed celebrities that night. Awesome.

"Lance looked like a James Bond 007 with that great attire", a star-gazing media man told a blogger. "He was so dashing! I will be including him this year on my list as among the Best-Dressed male celebrities of 2019."

Indeed, Lance was turning more heads upon him. Awesome!

Sa tuwina, napakaganda ng impresyong iniiwan sa amin ng butihing ina nina Rannie at Lance Raymundo na walang iba kundi si Mrs. Nina Zaldua-Raymundo. At muli niyang napatunayan 'yun sa amin nang makatabi namin siya sa panonood ng Senakulong "Martir Sa Golgota" kamakailan lamang sa Greenfield District na kung saan ang anak niyang si Lance Raymundo ang gumanap sa papel na Hesukristo.

Napakasarap palang kausap ni Mrs. Raymundo, lalo na kapag nag-payo na siya sa iyo, very "motherly" ang dating niya. Mapagmalasakit, maunawain, maistima. Feeling namin, napaka-suwerte namin at hindi na iba ang naging turing sa amin ni Mrs. Raymundo.

"Iho, iwasan mo na ang masyadong sensitibo at emosyonal", sabi pa ni Mrs. Raymundo. "Tapangan mo ang kalooban mo. Manalig ka pa ng higit sa Diyos. Naririto lang ako sa tuwina at sumusubaybay sa inyong mga anak na tinuring ko na."

Nangako naman kami kay Mrs. Raymundo na susundin namin ang kanyang mga payo. But anyway, isa pang kahanga-hangang aspeto sa pagkatao ni Mrs. Raymundo ay ang kanyang adbokasiya para kay Venrable Mother Ignacia, ang Pilipinang madre na nabuhay nuong 19th century at gumawa ng maraming milagro nu'ng kapanahunan nito. 

Nilalakad ngayon ni Mrs. Raymundo, kasama ang iba pang RVM Sisters na ma-beatify sa Roma si Mother Ignacia balang araw bilang isang ganap na Santa. Venerable na kasi si Mother Ignacia, meaning kandidata na ito sa pagiging isang Santa. Isang milagro na lang ang hinihintay pa, para maaprubahan na sa Vatican City, at kapag naaprubahan na iyon, mabe-beatify na si Mother Ignacia sa Roma.

Magmula nu'ng mawalay si Mrs. Raymundo sa kanyang butihing asawa na si Mr. Danilo H. Raymundo (namatay si Mr. Raymundo nuong huling taon lamang), mas lalo siyang naging dedikado sa mga religious and charity works niya. Lalo ring napalapit sa puso niya ang RVM sisters. Dahil hindi siya iniwan ng mga ito sa ere, lalo na nu'ng yumao ang asawa niya, ang mga ito'y naki-dalamhati sa kanya.

"Nagpapasalamat ako at nagkaroon ako ng napakababait na mga anak sa katauhan nina Lance at Rannie", tanging nasabi na lamang ni Mrs. Raymundo. "They are both my Pride and my Glory. Hanga ako sa mga magagandang bagay na naidulot at naibigay na nila sa showbiz industry. Proud ako to be their mother."

At dapat rin, magpasalamat pareho sina Lance at rannie dahil mayroon silang napakabuting ina sa katauhan ni Mrs. Nina Zaldua-Raymundo!

When tears are not enough to justify a scene, especially when you see a character being tortured and judged and ridiculed, those moments lingered on upon the hearts and minds of those who loved HIM.

In a truthful presentation of The Greatest Story Ever Told, the hangover simply wasn't just enough.

And the actor by the name of Lance Raymundo, would definitely linger more.

"I was really surprised this year with the great TV mileage of our Senakulo which had its last performance for 2019 last April 20 at the Greenfield District", Lance told a blogger-friend. "Because you see, Rob, this year, I did not exert much effort to promote or publicize the play. I did not ask Shandii Bacolod to hold a press conference or whatsoever. I did not invite anyone. It's because this year, I wanted a more solemn and personal portrayal of Jesus. I did not do it for any career move or whatsoever, I simply wanted to glorify His name.

"But of course, I would not say no every time a media man or some TV stations would want to interview me about being Jesus", Lance continued on saying. "It's just ironical that this year, at a time that I wanted a silent portrayal, it's there that the media men covered it more. The likes of TV patrol, GMA news, and others. Even on some cable channels, wow, I was really surprised. I guess, people are more inclined now on their Catholic faith every Holy Week season."

And it was done. Even the delicate type of audience at the Cultural Center of the Philippines were so impressed by Lance's very serious attack on his portrayal as Jesus. It's the first time that Lance acted in a CCP venue and it was pretty thrilling on his part. 

Feed backs, reviews, hear says- they all have one common description: That Lance Raymundo was so effective as Jesus Christ, our Lord.

According to one blogger:"Lance delivered his lines with clarity, magnitude and superiority. He spoke with feelings. And it transcended upon the innermost senses of my soul."

An Art patroness said this in addition: "The way he stood on stage, wow, he looked so confident but gentle. He has great eye contact to the audience. And the handsomest Jesus Christ that I had seen."

With all these good remarks that Lance got upon acting it out as Jesus, what could he say by now about the experience?

"It's a great feeling to share the messages of Christ to everyone", Lance answered. "And it's more natural this year, more free-wheeling, less pressure. I wanted it that way, you see. Because my attitude this time, I simply wanted it on a more personal level than a professional stand.

"It was heavenly", Lance added saying. "Seeing how people, especially the young, react on some Biblical scenes, I could feel I was made as an instrument by God to further convey the meanings of Jesus' teachings and legacy. I'm no longer thinking about what the critics would say, because deep in my heart, I knew I did the right thing."

And last question for Lance, how would he react if most of the people did say that he's the handsomest Jesus?

"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder", came Lance's final answer. "If they see me that way, there's no one to blame. Because you see, Jesus is the embodiment of us all."

"MARTIR SA GOLGOTA" TRANSCENDS THE TRUE MEANING OF A THEATRICAL DELIGHT (second review on Tanghalang Santa Ana's "Martir sa Golgota")....

It was a mixture of Old and New- and how did the director of Tanghalang Santa Ana's Senakulo, staged last Holy Week in different venues, and entitled "Martir Sa Golgota- was able to do that, is very remarkable and amazing to the eyes and the soul.

Director Lou Veloso, yes, he did a very good job by directing magnificently this play about Jesus Christ.

All throughout the many Biblical scenes of the play, there were traditional looks and ways, and at the same time, Modern looks and ways, too. But what's amazing is, they comprehended and mixed in such a pleasant way. Never a distraction and it also never went out of focus.

When you look at Lance Raymundo as a 'clean-cut' Jesus minus the long hair and wavy looks but only with those titillating little hairs, he still looked Jesus exactly, every inch of the way.

And in one scene when Jesus chose the twelve disciples- it was shown that they were not all fishermen. Others were macho dancers, rugby boys, criminals, poor boys. Which made you think, Jesus would still be present in our midst on the modern Millenial times.

While on the FINALE scene wherein all the characters appeared not in Biblical costumes but in present-day outfits of jeans, jerseys, coats, skirts and shirts- wow, it was a pure theatrical delight.

On the first review of Martir sa Golgota, we already mentioned how good were Ced Torrecarion (as Pontius Pilate) and Arkin Raymund da Silva (as Judas) were in the play. But some additional cast were also worthy of praise and rave review.

One of them was Ms. Theresa Mortel (as Martha). She was so good in a scene wherein Jesus Christ brought back to life a man named Lazarus, her raw emotions and strong faith as one of Jesus' followers was so captivating. Her endearing ways with Jesus Christ in a few scenes offered much hope and anticipations.

Another one was a young theater actor by the name of Sean Saraza (who portrayed as one Jesus' disciples). He could steal attention away from the other disciples, not merely with his handsome looks but proper nuances and style in acting.

The choreography of John Paul San Antonio was simple, enigmatic, cozy, relaxed and very free-spirited. This time, John  Paul experimented with new dance steps and techniques which were not yet seen in any musical play before. A very promising choreographer at that, surely, John  Paul would outshine the rest in the enar future. His Finale dance number together with the other cast members of the play was truly an artistic showcase of dance skills.

Yes, the Senakulo play MARTIR SA GOLGOTA transcends the true meaning of a theatrical delight. It went further than that. And it glorified more the Name of the Son of God. JESUS.

But there was a hidden message that could be seen and felt at the very end of the play. Not just Jesus participating, but also the native Mother Land- the Philippines.

In a perfect melody of a song that was heard in the end, it was revealed that there's still hope for Motherland

and with a faith stronger than the gates of Paradise-

Jesus will live

in the hearts and souls


of many
