Have you ever felt that the blue ocean wanted you so badly and tried to grab you away from the people you love?
Have you ever lingered in the blue ocean for a long, long time and felt that it badly wanted you as the waves came flowing over you?
Have you ever seen how it partied and danced along with the many beautiful sea creatures?
Have you ever embraced it....
Loved it
Breathed alongside with it?
May be yes, maybe no.
But for one blogger who had roots upon it, the memories had stayed for a long, long time.
About that wide, blue ocean and the magic it had given to him.
But what's important is, films like UTWAS, one of the competing Shorts for this year's Cinemalaya 16- offered so much knowledge and fragility about that blue ocean, more than we ever knew.
Perhaps, it only took one pure heart from a boy who had origins from it. That boy could be you and me, and it was a LEGACY from his ancestors who took care of it.
Provided by a great bondage from his father and concerns about the welfare of the most beautiful part of a planet called EARTH, the film UTWAS outshone all the rest of the competing Shorts this year at Cinemalaya 16,- in terms of great technical aspect, philosophy, raw but realistic actors and wonder. The perfect team-up of Cinemalaya "sweethearts" in persons of Ms. Kat Sumagaysay and Mr. Richard Salvadico was like a decadent in its positive outlook of rhythm and blues- submerging into a rebellious and revolutionary form of film execution. Oh, my. These two were a WONDER!
There's logic in style, originality in direction and perfect editing of cuts and takes.
But what's more important is, there's that kind of cleanliness in the tender recesses of the beating heart and the wandering soul.
That,
no matter how much the ocean would want to take you and be with it forever-
the love of a human father was greater than anything else in this world.
Amidst the beautiful nature and its tolls-
LOVE WOULD SURELY TAKE YOU THERE-
FOREVER.
