KUYA E. (NEO DE PADUA): ONE SUCCESS STORY

Kuya E with his favorite singer- Ms. Lani Misalucha

Kuya E.: from rags to riches

"I want to inspire people this time in my comeback", Neo de Padua, better known as Kuya E, said in his recently-concluded press conference. "That's why I came up with this TV show. It's all about mentoring people on how to be successful in life."

Because according to Kuya E., he himself has a story to tell.

"From a market vendor, I transformed and rose above poverty", he continued saying as some selected movie press people on that presscon of his felt awed. "Ang dami ko talagang pinagdaanan. I discovered in myself many hidden talents. I soared higher, became a singer, a businessman, and now a TV host."

Yes, Kuya E.'s life is one success story. That's why, again, he wanted to SHARE. To IMPART. To LOVE.

And this will soon be seen in his new TV show entitled Rule Yourself To Success.

"That's why I have two segments in my show that showcases life-inspiring stories from celebrities and ordinary people", he stressed on. "One segment is entitled Shine Bright Like A Diamond. It's a 15 minute segment showcasing the lives of celebrities on and off the camera. As their lives were revealed for public consumption. And another segment is entitled All About Success. It's a 12 minutes segment that shows me interviewing C.E.O.'s, business and corporate people, as they share their formulas on success."

RYTS (Rule Yourself To Success) will be seen every Saturday, 4 to 5 P.M. starting on May 12, 2018.
It's a new talk show under EAGLE BROADCASTING CORP. (EBC), Net 25 Channel and produced by Big Eyes Events and Productions.

" I dream of guesting soon the likes of Ogie Alcasid, Gloria Romero, Eddie Garcia, Gabby Concepcion, Nora Aunor and Nova Villa", Kuya E. said in the end of the presscon. "I have guested in our advance episodes Ms. Lani Misalucha, Dina Bonnevie, Vivian Velez, Vernee Saturno, Lloyd Samartino and Jessa Zaragosa. And yes, I have one segment that will feature me singing a duet with my guests. That's gonna be a surprise!"

More power to you, KUYA E.

meyor ferdinand bote: dumalo sa 112th founding anniversary ng gethsemane united methodist church...

mayor ferdinand: doesn't fail the expectations of his people

THE BOTE CLAN/FAMILY AT BETHANY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

MRS. MAYVELYN BOTE AND HUSBAND FERDINAND BOTE

MR. DAVE MACARIOLA AND THE WOMAN IN MAYOR BOTE'S AUDITING AND TREASURY STAFF, WITH BLOGGER ROBERT SILVERIO

BLOGGER ROBERT WITH VICE MAYOR MELVIN PASCUAL

AdBLOGGER ROBERT WITH THE HANDSOME SON OF THE LADY SPEAKER THAT DAY- JESVIR FAJARDO.

He's basically the typical MR. NICE GUY. But more than that, his inclination to the world of Performing Arts was truly wonderful. He's one of the few Filipino actors we have now who abled to penetrate the New York Art Scene, because that's where he stays right now. Mingling with fellow New Yorkers and Artists there, participating in many artistic endeavors there, too.

He's Mr. Carlo Cruz, the chosen guy who portrayed Gen. Pio del Pilar, a relative of Goyo (Gen. Gregorio del Pilar) in the much-anticipated film GOYO: ANG BATANG HENERAL.

"I am so busy here right now in the U.S., but I am sure to come back home soon for the promotions of my film Goyo", Carlo told his blogger-friend over FB chatbox. "I have a good role there that's really historical. For me, it's such an important film and I should not miss the experience once it's shown there in the Philippines.

"Shooting the film was very rewarding for me", Carlo further stressed. "We shot in many different locations. I got to wear old costumes of the Military Officers in Philippine History. I fired old rifles, did some action scenes and acted it out with other fellow actors of high caliber. Plus, being directed by no less than Jerrold Tarog was awesome. I cherished every moment of it."

Carlo's greatest buddy back home is no less than actor-singer Lance Raymundo. And they do miss each other a lot now.

"He taught me a lot how to handle the pressures of Philippine Showbiz", Carlo continued over the PM messages on FB. "He guided me, too, somehow. He gave me tips and proper advice. Until I got a talent manager who handled my acting career, Lance went on to fully support my dreams on becoming an actor just like him.

"We're not just best buddies, we were gym mates, too", he continued on. "We went into every kind of sports and many activities. Everytime I go back home, we see each other and have coffee and some drinks. Our friendship had withstood the tests of time itself."

Carlo promised to attend all the promotional events in line with the film GOYO: ANG BATANG HENERAL. Like the film screenings, the red-carpet Premiere Night, TV promo guest appearances, and other promotional events in line with the film.

But will Carlo stay long this time to revive his film career in his own country? What about doing another film here?

"Let's just wait and see", Carlo revealed at the end. "If offers will come along the way, why not? But I also have other prior commitments here in New York. It's such a hectic schedule for me. But I am sure I can fix them. How I would love to do another film in my own country. That's where my heart is."

All the best for you. Mr. Carlo Cruz.

mayor ferdinand bote will hold acting, dancing & painting workshops in general tinio, n.e.

young ferdinand bote: oh, my.

mayor ferdinand bote with his grandaughter

the Mayor's cute & angelic smile

It's so rare nowadays to have a Mayor and a Public Servant that gives importance to the Arts. It's so rare nowadays to find one leader that's so concerned to the lives of the youthful souls in his town. And it's so rare, too, to have one very sincere person to do great tasks and embrace the world of Arts for his people.

"In cooperation of the NCCA (National Comission for Culture & the Arts), I will be having series of workshops for my artistic young kababayans", Mayor Ferdinand Bote told to a blogger in a casual tete-a-tete, not an interview, because the Mayor doesn't like interviews. "Some people from the Cultural Center of the Philippines approached me to do workshops on our annual Street Dancing Festival and Painting sessions. I am a Patron for the Arts and I liked the idea at once, so I said yes. Rather than invite big-name stars and their managers asking for very high honorarium fees, I decided to focus on inviting people from the Art scene. It's more fulfilling on my part since we will be celebrating our upcoming Fiesta, the Feast of General Tinio town (formerly known as Papaya) here in Nueva Ecija. Our Feast Day is on May 13. It's very near.

"Aside from the Painting & Dance workshops, blogger Robert Silverio will also do acting workshops for my young town mates who are all willing to learn how to act", Mayor Bote continued to say. "The workshop facilitator is going to be my friend- Mr. Dave Macariola."

So, before the annual fiesta of General Tinio town on May 13, there will be lots of activities for the young and old. Mostly, artistic activities. Mayor Bote's vision for his people is to further promote Education, Sports and the Arts.

"Arts is the best way to express ourselves", Mayor Bote said. "I want the young people of General Tinio to become future artists and Academically-trained. I want them to be all smart, passionate and bright people."

Indeed, the Mayor of General Tinio is an Angel sent from Up Above. That, we guarantee. Am I right, Dave Macariola?

roeder camanag sails on...

younger roeder camanag during his years as matinee idol in philippine showbiz

a more mature roeder

It was a very relaxed and amiable Roeder Camanag that one blogger saw one early evening at the Artist Playground home base. His inept attitude of being kind to the members of the working print media remained warm and wonderful. It was because of his many years of experiences and friendship with the media people that counted the most in his heart.

We remembered, Roeder was really a "Darling of the Press", being launched then three times as a matinee idol-singer. That's why the press people loved him, really, and he loved them back, too. It was a two-way traffic- and surely, Roeder knew how to deal properly with the media. He was never a SNUB.

That was the early eighties decade that lasted until the '90's.

"It was so happy then, ang saya-saya ng mundo nating lahat noon, di ba, Robert?", Roeder said to his friend-blogger. "We never knew that those moments would not last forever. And seasons will change. Now, things are very different. Our entertainment industry has changed patterns and ways. It was not as happy as before."

And the blogger agreed, as he and Roeder both reminisced the 'good, old days' of the entertainment industry before that used to be so casual, undiscriminating, fun, happy-go-lucky and NEVER CORPORATE. But that was back then, and how he and Roeder both wished it would come back again.

Anyway, this year, some dates of the working days of Roeder's theater group- the Artist Playground- has moved his time table a little.

"We are not sticking with the original plan", Roeder said. "So we all decided to let go of the original dates. Mahirap banggain  ang dates of performances ng Virgin Labfest ni  Rody Vera, eh. Instead of June and July months, Artist Playground will open its next theater season on the month of August. And yes, we will be opening it with the Jun Pablo play about one church sacristan and a Catholic priest relationship.

"After that, we will also stage the play about the Golden Gays entitled Gigi and Walterina", Roeder continued saying. "I will be portraying the Walterina character and Norman Penaflorinda will portray the Gigi (Justo C. Justo) character. They are not fictional characters, you see. They are real characters. That's why we have to be efficient talaga in portraying those characters."

Roeder was also happy to tell to a blogger that they are converting the backstage theater space of the AP (Artist Playground) into a mini-theater, and half of it, a Cinematheque. He toured the blogger to take a look at the space. And the blogger saw how big the other converted venue was.

"Paul Jake Paule's mini plays will staged there on the mini theater", Roeder further stressed. "And half of the space, we will convert into a mini-Cinema house wherein the indie film directors and short film directors could have a venue for their films. It's a 60-seater Cinematheque."

But the best of the many good developments at the Artist Playground was the new management of the Artist Playground Cafe.

"The old management of the AP Cafe begged-off, hindi na raw nila kaya", Roeder said. "It's because they don't open everyday. Now, my technical director and my Production Manager who are partners in real life, took over. They open the AP Cafe everyday. They changed the menu. Now, they are serving lunch, merienda and dinner. The employees of B.I.R. (Bureau of Internal Revenue) who holds office at the ground floor below, now go up to the fourth floor where the AP Cafe is located to eat there. Furthermore, they are now aware of what's going-on to our theater group. As they eat there, they become more interested to the Arts."

And Roeder treated his blogger-friend for a dinner at the AP Cafe. Amazingly, the food was great. It's served in big bunches and the blogger got full.

At the end of the interview, one blogger fully praised Roeder's performance as Jesus last Holy Week at the Daan ng Krus, the Musical Play. For the blogger, it's the best performance of a Holy Jesus.

"The feeling was so magical", Roeder said in the end. "As I performed and watched the videos of me portraying Jesus Christ, I can't believe it myself. It's so fascinating. I ask myself: 'Ako ba 'yun?' It's so wonderful. It's as if Jesus transformed himself to me. Even though I have been portraying Jesus in that play for so many years now, the feeling continued to be great."

Sail on further, Roeder. Sail on. The world of Arts will never be the same without you.
