DENISE SILVERIO VIVERO: PAPASOK NA SA "THE VOICE ACADEMY"....

DENISE: ONE ARTISTIC SOUL

Produkto si Denise Silverio Vivero ng very artistic parents and a clan of showbiz writers and artists.

"I saw the potentials of Denise as a singer. At hilig din naman niya, eh. That's why, I am deciding to enroll her now sa The Voice Academy to further improve her singing talent.

Denise is only 14 years old at youngest siya sa 4 siblings nina Deza at Alex Vivero.

reynelyn with the 4-s pamilya

"Tinuturuan nila ako kung paano kumanta ng maayos, pati 'yung proper diction, and all.

"She's very supportive talaga. She teaches me how to sing properly."

Very well said, Reynelyn. More power!

rafael: he felt so sad from the passing of a colleague.
RAFAEL'S CONTEMPORARY IN THE WORLD OF SINGING: THE LATE RICO J.PUNO (R.I.P.)

Nai-release na dito early this year ang single niyang Miss Bonita, mula sa komposisyon ni Blanktape (and also a featured artist in the song), and its now doing well. His next single is now being prepared.

"Masaya kaming lahat sa programang iyon, we're like one big happy family!", bulalas pa ni Rafael.

Although like me, I also made a mark internationally. I became a hit in Malaysia and other parts of the world.

"Well, you see, this is a different time, Millenial na tayo", pagtatapos na wika ni Rafael. "It's now a different beat and a different tune. Sa mga songs ko ngayon, I adopt new trends. I welcome new changes. Because you see, singing is my life. Basta ang importante, we will still value Filipino music-old and new. That what matters most, you see.

"Rico J. will always be Rico J. He is an icon. He has his own identity and originality. And no one can take it away from him."

Very well said po, Mr. Rafael Centenera- ang Ginoong Romantiko!

suzette ranillo co-directs a visayan film- "pagbalik"...

suzette co-directs...

suzette: a film about family relationships

ms. gloria sevilla (suzette's mom), fernando josef, and ms. suzette ranillo

suzette: a pride of Philippine Cinema

She's one of the finest character actresses we've ever seen in many of the indie films that contested in some film festivals for the past few years now. She played a Psychiatrist in Double Twisting, Double Back, a nose-bleeding woman in Children's Show, a crying Katipunera in Death March, a General's wife in one short film years ago at Cinema One Originals, a mysterious woman in Birdshot, a gentle mom in Siargao, a violent character in Amok,  and many, many more.

But she remains so low-key,- well in fact, she's belongs to one of the most respected showbiz clans and the very first newbie to win a Best Supporting Actress award in Famas-at a time wherein veteran actors and actresses penetrated the movie industry- in 1970's.

A staunch supporter and advocate for indie films, here she comes without any pretense and all. Just as casual as she is. Just as sincere and friendly.

Her name: MS. SUZETTE RANILLO.

This time around, one of the most narural actresses that Philippine Cinema has produced has something new to tell:

"We just finished shooting a Cebuano film- a Visayan film and the title of the film is PAGBALIK", Suzette told a blogger over a heavy dinner treat at Greenhills area. "My mom- Ms. Gloria Sevilla, and I are both starring in this film which I term as a regional film of sorts. The setting is in Cebu and the period was 1970's.  And this film, I co-directed with a young and budding film maker Hubert Tibi.

"The film is about a grandson, a daughter and a grandmother", Suzette continued saying. "It's about the struggles of 3 generations of family members- about a grandson taking care of her lola, about a mom working abroad as an OFW, and about a grandson dealing with the absence of her mom and hardships of taking care of his grandma.

"The struggles of living alone in fear on the lola's side, their story altogether, the bitterness, the resentments, the pains. It's a very simple story, but it sure will touch anybody's heart", she said.

By this month of November, Suzette plans to show the film in some key provinces in the Visayan region and in Siargao.

"Then, we'll go to many other different provinces in the South and hold special screenings. By the month of January, in time for the Sinulog Festival, we will show the film in Cebu.

"The film will have some English subtitles so that those who don't understand the Visayan language could also appreciate it", Suzette further continued. "We had finished editing the film already and soon, we will have special school showings in selected cities in Mindanao, too. "

In one of the film's recent screening to some grade 5 students and some 2,000 students in Zamboanga City, Suzette recalled that the kids were crying as they watched the film.

"Because the film could relate upon the lives of young people", she said. "It's about family. It's about missing your parents. It's about comforting the old."

Is Suzette competing this film in some indie film festivals next year?

"Let's see", Suzette answered. "Maybe in Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino and Cinema Rehiyon which is focused on regional films. But I am more keen on showing the film in many schools. I want to teach the young via this film."

It's high time for Suzette to unleash another artistic talent via directing a film. But she's not in a hurry to direct a solo film someday- no more as a co-director but the main director of a film.

"I am still looking for the right material", Suzette ended saying. "Directing a film is really a man's job, but many women directors are now striving. Maybe I could be added on that list someday."

That someday is not far behind, Suzette.

lance raymundo recalls last moments with his late dad...

lance and elder bro rannie: will continue on with the LEGACY

LANCE: MORE POSITIVE, A LOT MORE PASSIONATE

LANCE: ADMIRES HIS DAD'S STRENGTH

"My dad fought his sickness for two years", came Lance Raymundo's words in one casual interview after the death of his dad- Mr. Danilo Raymundo, just a few days before All Saints' Day arrived. "And according to our doctors, it was remarkable that my dad was able to survive his sickness for two years. He was really a strong man. Fighting liver cirrhosis for 2 years, man, it only means that you are really strong. According to doctors, once you got that sickness, the most you can survive is six months. But my dad survived it for two more years.

"Now, I could say, my dad was really strong, I would like to repeat saying that", Lance continued saying. "He once fought with Boy Golden (a notorious hoodlum in 1950's) when he was young and he beat Boy Golden. That's why all of us in the family inherited his physical strength. But he's only a mortal being. Yet he fought hard and brave."

MR. DANILO H. RAYMUNDO (R.I.P.): IN HIS YOUNGER YEARS

Lance's father, Mr. Danilo H. Raymundo (R.I.P.) died of multiple organ failure. And in his dying moments, the whole Raymundo family was beside him.

the raymundo family with their late father in his bedside before he died.
"We were all standing vigil by his bedside at the Cardinal Santos Memorial Hospital", Lance reminisced. "We're all tired and haggard, and all of us fell asleep beside his bed, even my mom. But it was me who got awakened around 5:30 in the morning. I saw him in a different position, no longer breathing..., I realized he's no longer alive by that time. So I woke-up everybody. That's the time we all realized that he's really gone, that he had already left us."

But there was no 'over-acting' hysterics and all. Just lots of tears and embraces. Because for the past two years since Lance and his family saw the older Mr. Raymundo (R.I.P.) fighting the illness, they had already prepared for the moment of his passing. For two years, they had suffered and endured. For two years, they had accepted the inevitable.

"It's really painful, but you see, there's no other way but to accept this tragedy", Lance whispered hard to his blogger-friend. "I love my father more than my life. He's the one who gave us all the best gifts that life could offer. I know by now, he's in Heaven. And he's gonna guide and watch us all."

(from left to right): rannie, ms. beni saunders, lance, and mrs. ninazaldua-raymundo

lance on his last Holy Mass for his late dad

Last All Saints' Day, Lance and the whole Raymundo family was with their father's ashes as they visited him again. From thereon, with a little more strength to endure, Lance would be okay again.

"This family tragedy would only further strengthen me", he said. "I am facing my singing career with a lot more positive energy and passion this time. After my comeback single You Are The One, which is currently doing so good, Viva Records asked me to sing the theme song of the movie Unspoken Words. I already recorded the single and the MTV of that song will be released very soon."

An entertainer's life simply must go on. As in the saying, 'The Show Must Go On', the singer of songs lingers on with more vivid and electrifying colors.

"The wounds inside our hearts simply digs us deeper as unique individuals", came Lance's ending words in that casual interview. "I will be continuing-on with the Legacy. My dad supported me and my brother Rannie Raymundo in our musical dreams, and we will both continue singing for his sake."

And a lot of people will always be behind you, Lance.
