On August 16 to 22, a new film festival organized by FDCP Chairwoman- in person of Ms. Liza Dino will start to unfold. And among the film entries included there is the movie AWOL, which will have mainstream actor Gerald Anderson on the lead role. And, playing Gerald Anderson's "chaser" on the film- as the disgruntled investigator who'll hunt Gerald (gone AWOL in the military) up to the very end- is no less than debonaire actor Richard Quan.

Over a mug of Grande coffee at Starbuck's, Richard told a blogger some more interesting facts about his role in the movie AWOL.

"I am one person who's really mad to people who has gone AWOL", Richard said. "I have deeper issues within myself that makes me human, but on the facade, a man who's out to chase the character of Gerald. I am a disgruntked investigator who drinks a lot- sort of a drunkard- in this film. But I am so serious in capturing gerald's character. We'll be having some chase scenes- just like Harrison Ford's character in an old Hollywood film The Fugitive. Aside from me, Gerald is also being hunted down by some people he knows in a big syndicate."

And what can Richard say about his director in this film, in person of Enzo Williams?

"Direk Enzo is a Hollywood film director", came Richard's quick answer. "And I am proud to be working with someone of his high caliber as a film maker. Actually, this is my third time to work with him. One of the past film I've worked with him is in the movie Bonifacio which starred Robin Padilla. And definitely, I can say, direk Enzo one great person to work with."

Richard is often met with great challenges to further prove his worth as an actor. He could change his looks, characters, persona- in a blink of an eye. And with this new film AWOL- an entry at that for the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (or PPP), he's out to conquer a more everlasting awe and praise from people in the industry.

"I simply prepare and study the role", Richard said in the end. "I have no qualms in any role I portray. I just feel that I am simply out there doing my job as an actor- deliver the role to the best of my ability. If they feel awed or whatsoever, I don't know. Appreciation starts from the looker. But I'm happy when they say so."
