richard quan: he delivered one of the most unique acting performances on television

Actors are one of the most-treasured gifts of the living earth. Because they can create life out of many entanglements, they can breathe-in a new passion and a lot more wonderful creations. Because actors inspires more scenery, realizing hidden dreams and perks-up more embraces in every craft.

Before the year of 2017 ends, we saw one of the finest acting performances on television (and this actor we're referring to must be nominated next year for PMPC Star Awards, paging all PMPC members-rms.*) and it delivered a brief but lasting awesome impression. It was actor Richard Quan- and his unique attack of portraying a character of a Military Colonel-bodyguard and a hired killer at the same time- that was dark and black, silent, subtle & consuming- but all too-powerful. It was seen in the late afternoon TV teleserye- entitled Wildflower (which is, by now, one of the highest-rating teleseryes of ABS-CBN channel 2).

"I'm so glad I became a part of that show", Richard once told a blogger. "When we had a victory party one time because of the high ratings of the show, everybody joked around who would die next. I raised my hand and I told them- ME! But at that time, the director didn't want me to die yet. It just happened naturally that I had to die in the show- I mean, my character had to die already. Because Joseph Marco's character needed to give justice to death of his foster parents whom I both killed."

Even though that Richard's no longer a part of the show, he cherished all the happy moments and great bondings with his fellow actors there.

"Ang ganda ng samahan naming lahat du'n", Richard said again. "But as they say, some good things never last. It's alongside the story of the teleserye that I had to die. And I am so thankful I was given a chance to be a part of that show."

But one thing Richard never knew, he impressed so many film artists in his brief acting stint at Wildflower. More TV appearances in other TV drama shows and movie offers came after that. And one of Richard's favorite is his new film entitled Spider's Man.

"Because my role there is very challenging", Richard said at the end. "I play a man with a Down Syndrome. It is directed by Ruben Ma. Soriquez and it will be shown internationally."

Richard was also included in the film Citizen Jake, a comeback film vehicle of genius Mike de Leon, who criticized the currently-on-going film festival- the Metro Manila Film Festival- thus, eliminating then the film's chances to be one of the film entries of the said film fest. And many are now wondering when the film is going to be shown.
