PAUL JAKE: HANDSOME AND "GIFTED"

"HAPPINESS IS A PEARL", DIRECTED BY PAUL JAKE PAULE WILL HAVE ITS CLOSING WEEKEND PERFORMANCES ON SATURDAY, SEPT. 16 AND SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17!

Two awesome qualities that we recently saw upon one fine man by the name of Paul Jake Paule recently... And it indeed amazed us. Made us feel awesome.

First, when we watched him perform as Elias in the play Kanser2017: The Novel. He was so precise and accurate as a God-fearing rebel on that play- his old Filipino accent very much efficient and powerful- and his ways- strong, gigantic, magnificent. One of the finest Elias performances we've ever seen on stage, on screen and in our imaginary thinking.

Second, when we saw the play Happiness Is A Pearl by his own separate theater group- the Artist Playground, at a fantastic venue called Arts Above. There was that other hidden talent on this captivating actor- a talent for directing a play. There was so much artistry in the way Paul Jake directed the play. So much grandeur. So much efficiency.

Over a cup of coffee, with his powerful stares and magnetic smiles upon a "half-crazed" blogger on hot noontime break, Paul Jake felt more humbled by the good reviews on his play Happiness Is A Pearl.

"I felt happy getting all those good reviews for our play", he smiled with all humility. "But it didn't get much upon my head. I felt I was simply doing my job and I got surprised with all those good feedbacks. The more I assure to myself now, my artistry doesn't stop there. And that I must be more humble but competitive in the days to come.

"I hope I was able to translate to the audience the message of our play Happiness Is A Pearl", Paul Jake continued on saying. "It's one delicate play that challenged me a lot. Thanks God, I delivered."

When it regards to their newly-formed theater company- the ARTIST PLAYGROUND, Paul Jake is still pulling the strings so hard, together with his team, especially to his co-Artistic Director in the company- Mr. Roeder Camanag.

"Sometimes, sabay-sabay ang mga open shows namin",Paul Jake told a blogger again. "And there are days that only few people are at the audience. But somehow, we can manage on. We have so many plans and dreams at the Artist Playground. What we lack now is a marketing team. We simply depend on walk-ins."

Paul Jake announced the forthcoming events to be held at their venue Arts Above, located along West Avenue, Q.C.

"On September 29 and 30, there will be a two day concert for Al Gatmaitan", Paul Jake said. "His concert is entitled In My Heart. And on September 23, the Proclamation of Eight. These are the eight artists and painters' showcase on our Art Gallery located at the penthouse of our venue. Then, on the coming month of October, we're coming-up with a new stage play entitled Fly Me To The Moon, which I will again direct."

We asked Paul Jake, what is the biggest challenge he gets as a director of a play?

"It's the handling of actors", Paul Jake answered. "Because they're not yet products of great acting workshops. They are very raw, very new. I still need to train them harder. And actors have their own different ways and different attitudes, too. So, it's a big challenge for me to direct our actors here at the Artist Playground."

More to come on this actor-director soon. Flourishing like a splendor in the grass, magnifying more like a mammoth on the fields.

Paul Jake Paule could have been taken, in the field of arts, he never really was.
