But before that, there was a journey. As the mind and the soul somewhat lingered on, the journey was dramatic, horrifying, transcending and yes, shocking.
In one gripping scene as the soul was speaking to his mom, it was so dramatic for us and we almost got lost deeply in translation. It was unabashed, personal, electrifying. Because no matter how much your mom tried to save you from the depths of an inevitable death, she wasn't able to, as you chose to continue-on with the journey.
And this made us believe, that the director of the Cinemalaya 16 Shorts (for competition) entitled FATIGUED was one hell of a film maker. He offered so much in that more than 11 minutes of running time, there were circles and trends, but the style and grace of the film was truly amazing.
The sound, the music, the images, the phantoms- only someone with very vivid imaginations could project all that.
FATIGUED is an exhilarating journey going towards the other side. But if you are afraid of death, better not try watching this film because it will surely give you the creeps.
Bravo and salute, director James Robin Mayo!
