Definitely people did take seriously the work of bringing back to life the mightiness of Jesus Christ. It was definitely a very serious job to consider, and those performing artists, especially the directors who were all assigned to do the TASK, did able to master the craft of their own separate artistic presentations. With the best they could, of showing back the glory, the pains and the redemption of one Lord named Jesus Christ.
For the last few years, one blogger did see and watch, very great and varied shows and production performances of Jesus Christ and his life-, in Senakulos, dramatic plays, Stations of the Cross, sarsuwelas, passion plays and the likes. And yes, they were all so good, carefully researched, presented and executed.
This year, there came one truly adorable and unforgettable Senakulo on the life of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It was a very intellectual play with very serious attacks and powerful performances, wherein scenes were carefully studied upon, the same as it was carefully chosen- and they all combined in great highlights, and a 'thirst-quenching' experience for the sincere lovers of theater forms.
Martir sa Golgota, the Senakulo, was A VERY LEGITIMATE VERSION of a life that's unforgettable and all-out spiritual.
This one (we again would say, this Senakulo entitled "Martir Sa Golgota", presented by Tanghalang Sta. Ana), didn't simply mean to entertain but rather, this Senakulo's very sincere intent was very transparent, and that is, to portray an honest very bright vision on the life of Jesus.
The dialogues were deep and brainy, and you could feel it's indeed THEATER at its totally 'legit' (again we'd wanna say--r.s.*) and honest water-like clear manifestations. You would feel absorbed in every scene, would listen intently to the words they had said, and lingered upon-, on, the most memorable accounts of Biblical scenes from the New Testament like the Beatitudes, the seven last words of Jesus, the miracles and more.
Purely impressive. Imagine, this were presented by very ordinary people, humble but modernized people from Sta. Ana in the city of Manila. And yet, they were the ones who captured the very right details and ideas. They captured the magnificence and splendor of an almost perfect theatrical production, which could be appreciated more by matured and delicate types of audiences.
If Jesus Christ came alive? Yes, truly He almost was. Whenever a great play about Him was really felt with honest intentions, yes, again, everything else did fall into the the proper places.
And that was the very last performance this Lenten Season of the year 2019-, of Tanghalang Santa Ana's MARTIR SA GOLGOTA, held at the Greenfield District last April 20- with a huge crowd of well-mannered people as they all watched by.

On the acting performances, Ced Torrecarion (as Pontius Pilate), alongside with the woman who portrayed as the Angel and sang so beautifully in one Biblical scene of the play; Plus: the Woman-Devil, the actor who portrayed Judas (we thought he was Soliman Cruz but nobody confirmed to us if he really was until we found-out later on that he's a theater actor whose name is Mr. Arkin Raymund da Silva--*), the actress who portrayed Mama Mary, and, all the actors who portrayed as Jesus Christ's 12 apostles-, yeah, they were all so good and outstanding in the play.
They all acted so fabulous.
Mr. Torrecarion as Pontius Pilate came-in so magnificent in his acting skills. His 'aura' was overwhelming on stage.
The woman who performed as the Angel had a great singing voice and conveyed a magical presence on stage.
The Woman-Devil with her snake-like forms moved and danced so graciously.
Mr. da Silva who portrayed Judas had perfect timing and proper angst, full of great emotions.
The actress who portrayed Mama Mary was so natural, gifted, brave.
And all the actors who portrayed as the apostles acted it out with great unison to one another-, creating a wonderful impact on the audience.
Truly impressive.

On the production side, the most splendid 'touch' were the costumes. Yeah, the costumes. Because they were not made to 'impress', but rather to 'present'. They were not designed to 'glitter', but rather to 'feel'. How wonderful, indeed. They were so beautiful to the eyes, very simple, yet so enigmatic in robes and laces.
The Lights Design of Martir Sa Golgota was dramatic, on the other hand. It comprehended much with the feelings and emotions of Jesus Christ.
And lastly, we would like to take a BOW. A great and intense bow to the director of this breath-taking play on Christ- with his vision so strong and wide, so profound and deep, so endearing and lasting.
Kudos to you, Sir Lou Veloso! For bringing back a very truthful scenario on the life of Jesus Christ. Though presented in a mixture of Old and New- it simply created a more awesome feeling. And also a very relating experience.

There's one great difference this year on the man who portrayed Jesus in the play Martir Sa Golgota.
This actor, this man, this soul-, he made it appear that JESUS CHRIST WAS ALMOST AS FULLY ALIVE in almost all of the scenes within the play. He would made you cry, but you would hold on to your tears out of pride and pity and shame.
Seeing Christ so gloriously real, and as mighty and proud, as kind and loving, as powerful and humble-, would make you feel that the actor who portrayed it- in person of LANCE RAYMUNDO, really made it all worthwhile and justified.
That Jesus Christ, indeed, was inside all of us right from the very start. And on his many passions seen upon His very remarkable holy life, he showed so greatly that HE truly loved us.
In an age when MIRACLES would pretend not to have ever existed,
FAITH came alive anew.
And a LOVE greater than anything else in this universe-
could still continue on...
To magnify
and astound you,
just like
FOREVERMORE.
